Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has completed analysis of the Kilmore Pacing Cup Night (Saturday, March 19).
The analysis was to compare key performance indicators from this year’s Cup meeting with the previous Kilmore Pacing Cup meeting, which was run as a day meeting on a Sunday in October, 2014.
Statistics from this year’s Kilmore Pacing Cup meeting:
- Wagering on meeting up 9.6% on previous Cup meeting in October 2014
- Wagering on Cup (race) up 20.8% on previous Cup in October 2014
- Wagering on meeting exceeded Saturday night benchmark by 17.1% ($283,000 average per race vs $242,000)
- No discernible difference in race numbers or field sizes
- Kilmore bistro/bar sales up over 200% on previous and subsequent Saturday night takings
- Bistro sales up over 80% on previous Kilmore Cup meeting in October 2014

HRV CEO John Anderson said his discussions with the Kilmore club indicated it was delighted with the results.
“Ben Murphy (CEO) has requested the club retain the date in 2017 due to the success of this year’s meeting. The function centre was overflowing and the club was rewarded with a terrific Cup field and exciting race,” Mr Anderson said.
