Wagga racing stalwart Robbie Jack passes away

Former Wagga Harness Racing Club president and life member Robbie Jack passed away this morning in Wagga Base Hospital.

Robbie was a stalwart of harness racing in the region winning multiple training and driving premierships.

There were few better front running drivers than R D Jack.

He has left a generation of trainers and drivers with two of his sons, David and Russell, and grandsons, Daniel, Nathan and Royce, all involved in harness racing.

Robbie trained some of the best pacers to come from the region including Yeronga Songbird, Direct Silver, Liret, Sheza Haze, Incandescent and numerous others who won feature races at Harold Park, Moonee Valley and beyond.

Robbie was 81.
