Unbeaten Kiwi pacer Our Waikiki Beach is in some trouble and is in the need of two scratching to gain a start in his Breeders Challenge Semi Final.
Due to a nomination mix up, the Trevor Casey owned 3yo was made the second emergency for his heat this week, and if no scratching's come then he will miss the rich Final on June 26th.

Below is the HRNSW Media Release
Unbeaten pacer Our Waikiki Beach has been named the second emergency in both semi finals of the Alabar Breeders Challenge for three year old colts and geldings after connections failed to nominate the gelding by 9:30am on Tuesday morning. A late nomination was accepted however under HRNSW policy all horses nominated prior to the close of nominations are entitled to a start before Our Waikiki Beach.
With 25 horses nominated for the semi finals prior to the 9:30am deadline, Our Waikiki Beach has been declared the second emergency for the semi finals.
HRNSW CEO John Dumesny confirmed the decision had been made in line with the controlling body’s policy.
“It may appear unfortunate one of the most marketable horses is the second emergency for the semi finals of the Alabar Breeders Challenge for three year old colts and geldings,” Mr Dumesny said.
“HRNSW has a commitment and a responsibility to all participants that they be treated equally in all aspects of the industry including regulatory matters.”
