Walter Case Jr. will return to driving once again at Plainridge Racecourse during the 2009 Spring Meet which begins next Monday, March 16, 2009 post time 4:00 pm. Case recently located to New York from Ohio, is working on the final details of a release from the New York State Parole Board which will allow him to travel to Massachusetts in order to go back to work driving horses.
Although he will not participate in the first few programs next week, the details are expected to be ironed out sometime during the week to insure his return to driving at Plainridge soon.
After gaining the approval of a similar release from Ohio late last fall, Case returned to the sulky at Plainridge just before the 2008 meet ended with a perceived comfort as he won 10 of 25 starts and tallied a .600 UDRS average.Plainridge President Gary Piontkowski said, " I am pleased Walter has accepted to take all the necessary steps so he may drive here again in 2009 and I look forward to the excitement his driving skills bring to a racing program ".
After relocating to New York, Walter Case Jr. appreciated the warm reception he received from the New England horsemen and fans and also said, " It has been a long winter and I am anxious to get back to work, I thank everyone who has helped me along the way ".
