Wave That Banner and driver Mark Haig lit up the pays on Saturday at E.P.R in the afternoon's feature event upsetting heavily favoured Joseph Michael in the process. The harness racing pacer went off at oddsof 18-1 and paid $38.70 to win.

It was a "banner" race for trainer Eric Wilson as he trains both horses who put on a dazzling stretch drive resulting in a photo finish with Wave That Banner winning by a slim nose.

Time of the mile was 1:59.3 which was the fastest winning effort of the day. Valerie Phelan co-owns both pacers. Wave That Banner is also owned by Eric Wilson while Phelan shares ownership on Joseph Michael with Andrea Dolan.

Todd Trites added some excitement on the day as he went into the final race with 1999-wins and many thought he would snare his 2000th career victory with Joseph Michael. He will have to put off the celebration for now, but has three drives on Sunday afternoon at Truro Raceway.

Trites did score a driving triple winning with The Viking Prince, J Ps Warrior ( dead-hit victory ) and Couleur Magnifique..

Mark Haig and Stephen Trites both ended up with two-wins each. Racing returns on Saturday, May 31st at Fredericton Raceway with a 2:00 P.M start time.
