V I P (Muscles Yankee) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in Wednesday's co-featured trotting race at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

The race's favorite Blazin Benny opened up a lead of roughly six lengths approaching the head of the stretch and appeared home free when he went off stride.

V I P would then square off in the stretch with rival Browner Shuttle (Stephane Bouchard) before they hit the wire close enough to require a photo to determine the winner in the mile clocked in 1:57.4.

V I P, who was driven by Austin Siegelman, secured his ninth victory of the season in a year that has seen him finish first or second in 17 of 26 starts and on the board in 21 of the 26 tries.

The win for V I P was the second consecutive on the card for Siegelman and trainer Allan Johnson who also scored with condition trotter Perfect Rendition (Perfectly) who prevailed in his Saratoga debut.

Live racing continues on Thursday night with a first post time set for 7:05pm.
