Hamilton harness racing trainer/driver Caleb Lewis was successful with 8-Y-0 Armbro Operative/Limited Lawyer mare Dressedforsuccess in the Squires Supermarket Pace for C0 class (mares) over 2180 metres at Terang on Wednesday October 19.

Sent forward from outside the front row to park outside the pacemaker Grand Slam Miss, Dressedforsuccess outstayed her rivals to record a strong victory in a slick 2-00.1 from Saunders Jewel along the sprint lane after following the leader, with Dance With Mia (one/one) third.

It was Dressedforsuccess’ 2nd victory in 25 outings, her last being at Mount Gambier in June last year.

Ararat trainer Daryl Crone combined with Bendigo’s Neil McCallum to land the Terang Veterinary Clinic Pace for C2 & C3 class over 1680 metres with honest 5-Y-0 Peace Of Art/Rumbleon mare Peaces Of You in a rate of 1-58.1.

Restrained from gate five to possie four back in the moving line, Peaces Of You became tightly pocketed in the final circuit as Witchwaywendy moved three wide around her from last, with her chances looking forlorn.

Taken six wide on straightening, Peaces Of You sprouted wings to blowse Peter Manning’s Flylika Bird Lombo (one/two – three wide last lap) in the final bound, with Witchwaywendy third.

Kerryn Manning’s Kiwi import The Adriatic made it three from four (all in Australia), when a last stride victor of the Mortlake Veterinary Clinic Pace for C1 class over 2180 metres.

A certainty beaten at Bendigo a week earlier when second to Truscott Cam, The Adriatic started an almost unbackable favourite at $1.30 after being $1.20 for most of the betting prior to the start and settled four back in the moving line from the extreme draw, with Kevin Brough’s Threes A Crowd leading from the pole.

Easing three wide solo at the bell, The Adriatic looked under extreme pressure on the home turn to make ground on the leader who was travelling well.

Rallying strongly under hard driving on straightening, The Adriatic nabbed Giveusagrin which trailed the leader in the last bound, with Threes A Crows just giving ground in the shadows of the post to finish third. The mile rate 2-02.

Terang’s Marg Lee has a great record on her home track and scored with Bettors Delight/Jilliby Spice 4-Y-0 gelding Jilliby Dasher in the Apco Easy Shops Pace for C1 class over 1680 metres in 1-58.9.

Driven by nephew Glen Craven, Jilliby Dasher from gate five raced in the open throughout to score from the favourite Hez A Rock Star which had every chance from the pole trailing the leader and third placegetter Bohemian Lombo.

Stawell owner/breeder/trainer Owen Martin has been having a great run of late and chalked up another winner when 5-Y-0 Lake Hills Jeb/Wrap Around gelding Hellovanite saluted the judge in the Maddens Lawyers Pace for C4 & C5 class over 2180 metres.

Driven by son-in-law Michael Sullivan, Hellovanite began best from gate three to lead, before taking a trail on the in-form Astral Flight and receiving the run of the race.

Coming away from the markers on the final bend, Hellovanite proved too strong at the finish for Panorama Wealth (three wide last lap from last), with Master Malcolm (three back the markers) using the sprint lane to finish third. The mile rate 1-58.2.
