Well we made a slight profit on our one off Swedish wagers with Dante Boko   $3.22, Raja Mirchi   $3.08, Britt Palema  $8.64 returning $14.94 for our $14 investment. But although we got four legs of the V75, our anchor in the first missed out, and ironically we couldn’t find one in the two other tricky legs, which were the ones in which we went wide in.

At Vincennes we made a small loss, with Sanity’s $4.60 return for his win in the International race not enough to recoup our $6 outlay when Airport was nosed out by A Nous Deux in the monte, and Univers de Pan found the handicap just a little too tough in the big feature.

I think we should stick with Univers de Pan this week, as you will see from my pick in the Grand Criterium de Vitesse.

Good luck.

V75-1 Silver division 2140m: Olympic Kronos (9) has been toughing it out with the big boys (and girls) in France lately.  Even from the nine draw, with Lutfi Kolgjini sure to take him forward, should be an anchor to lead off the v75. Selection 9

V75-2 Klass II 2640m: Kolgjini could make it two from two in the second, with Archangel Am (9)  another horse drawn nine. On Track Piraya (1) was a little disappointing last start, but had picket fence form prior, and should be kept safe as an alternate. Selection 9 (1)

V75-3 Färjestads Jubileumslopp (Gold) 1640m: You’d never get away with calling a horse Kaffir Face (10) in some countries, but the name has obviously lost in translation. Still he is a fine old campaigner with a good chance here.  Baht Launcher (3) has been going great guns recently and from the draw is a real danger to get to the front and lead. This is an either or pick so keep both safe. Selection 10 (3)

V75-4 Helge Solos Lopp 2140m: Coldbloods. Pick three favourites, hope for the best as I do. Early markets go for Cali Maks (10), Jarvso Elviz (2) and Lome Hero (6) Selection 10-2-6

V75-5 Elite mares 2640m: Blended Bellouet (8)  is off the second line with a 20 metre handicap, but with Bjorn Goop in the bike, that shouldn’t worry her. This is a mare who has taken a little time to break some bad habits but she is now showing what she can do, and we have to find a one off anchor somewhere. She is ours. Selection 8

V75-6 Caverion - Klass I 1640m: Offshore Man (3) was good enough to get into the Swedish TravDerby final two starts back, and ran sixth after a break three weeks ago to RK Princess (2), who he meets here along with the well performed Poisson (1).  They are the three obvious choices, and we have to find an outsider somewhere, so I’ve gone with ace driver Johnny Takter’s charge Fuzz (7). Selection 3-2-1-7

V75-7 Varmlands Folkblad (Bronze) 1640m: Queasy (8) Costatantisoldi (7), Pike River (6) and Disney Tooma (10) are the leading fancies in the early market in the last leg. But I think Uroy (1) off the pole, with Bjorn Goop in the bike is a good one to have at longer odds. Selection  8-7-6-10-1

Grand Criterium De Vitesse (Gr1) 1609m: Three Italian-bred sprinters, Pascia’ Lest (1), Marielles (2) and Nesta Effe (3)  have drawn the best slots off the mobile gate, and a Viking raider on the top of his game is wide on the second line in Amaru Boko (13). But I just think the French horses are a class above, and with Triode de Feliere (4) and Univers de Pan  (5) drawn well on the front line, I think it is comes down to a choice between these two. There is a boxing adage about a good big man will beat a good little man every time, and the same can be applied to stallions and mares. So go for the big boy, Univers de Pan. Selection 5.

TOTAL COMBINATIONS 60 – Cost $5, +1 alternate $10, + 2 alternate $20
