Ok racing fans, after three weeks I have picked horses in 22 races with only 10 winners, but I picked three of the six race winners last week and lost money, but we are still at a profit of $5.10 for this weekend.

What great racing in store at Pocono Downs Saturday, 11 stakes races, all eliminations for next week’s four major finals. I am making wagers in all 11 of the stakes races plus Friday night’s superb TVG Series FFA Trot. Let’s hope I can select more winners than losers.

$50,000 TVG/MEADOWLANDS FFA TROT

What a match-up this will be. Although they are barely an entry, and you just can’t not select an entry that has Wishing Stone and Market Share coupled together, Burke Vs Tocasno. The other entry of Uncle Peter and Guccio, Sevruga and the return to the USA of Arch Madness will make this a race no one should miss.

$50,000 BEN FRANKLIN PACE ELIMINATIONS

8th race – Despite having an outside post, Betterthancheddar gets the call in here after a rough go in the Roll With Joe Pace. He is the class of the field but will never have it easy having to go against Golden Receiver and Bettor’s Edge.

11th race – It’s Burke Vs Toscano again, only this time it’s Sweet Lou Vs Heston Blue Chip and you can’t ignore Fred And Ginger too. I think that Heston Blue Chip will find a way to get to the winner’s circle.

12th race – Pet Rock, Foiled Again and Bolt The Duer are the big guns in this race. But with the rail to his advantage I can see Pet Rock going all out and wiring the field in here.

$25,000 MAX HEMPT PACE ELIMINATIONS

3rd race – Lonewolf Currier has been all the talk as of late and comes in off an impressive 1:49.3 victory at Harrah’s. He faces a very tough Emeritus Maximus and unbeaten newcomer World Power. I look for Lonewolf Currier to keep his winning ways about him.

7th race – Wake Up Peter may not have won a race in five starts this year but tonight he draws well (post 3) and has been close most every start against the best in the nation for the red hot Alagna Stable. Wide open race could pay a nice price.

10th race – Won’t ever pick again Captaintreacherous again like I did last week. He showed me he is the real deal and thus I look for him to make it four for four in 2013. He’s beaten Vegas Vacation before and should not have a problem with Rockin Amadeus.

$25,000 EARL BEAL TROT

2nd race – Celebrity Maserati, Dontyouforgetit and Aperfectyankee have been slugging it out in tough PASS but now face each other head to head. Celebrity Maserati earlier this season won the Dexter Cup and shows he can win from on or off the pace. Watch for him to take this field.

6th race – Royalty For Life and Smoother Ride look to dogfight early for control of the lead which could take its toll on one or both of them. Could Corky, who also have early speed but has shown ability to sit a pocket trip and win, take advantage in here? This is another very tough race to choose. Provided Royalty For Life dictates all the fractions then he can win this race.

9th race – If I could only watch one race on tonight’s program it would be this one. Two undefeated Hambletonian hopefuls meeting for the first of what may be many more times in 2013. Jurgen Hanover is 7 for 7 and in his last start he was at his best in scoring 1:53.4 lifetime mark. Smilin Eli is 3 for 3 and has not raced in three weeks but is young, untested as he never raced at age two and in his last start won in 1:52.1. He may be so green he does not know when to stop. Outside post will be his main handicap but I think Smilin Eli can remain unbeaten tonight.

$20,000 JAMES LYNCH FILLY PACE

1st race – The last time Jerseylicious drew the rail she won and I can see that happening again in this well matched field. Other top fillies include Shebestingin, Cult Status and Ms Caila J Fra but they could all get caught trying for the lead and Jerseylicious to get great live cover to score from.

5th race – No doubt this is a race between two world class fillies who will be locking horns in major stakes all season long. I Luv The Nitelife fresh off her 1:49.1 romp in the Fan Hanover. Somwherovrarainbow winning for fun against Sire Stakes competition. Whom to choose? Can’t flip a coin here as I am going to select I Luv The Nitelife because of her big score last week against tough competition and she did it with ease in a lifetime best 1:49.1.
