WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 6, 2020 — Forced to go three wide near the three-quarters, Wild Wild Western still had plenty of kick in the passing lane as he captured Friday's $17,900 Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows in a harness racing career-best 1:50.1.
Wild Wild Western was third over when his cover began to falter, the signal for Tony Hall to send him three wide. The 4-year-old son of Western Ideal-Caila Fra zipped the final panel in 27.4 and defeated Carolina Beach, who shot the Lightning Lane, by 2-1/2 lengths. Crusades rallied for show.
Norm Parker trains Wild Wild Western, who now has banked $233,160 for Jacobs Creek Racing, Andrew Altobelli and John Deters.
It was one of five wins for Hall on the 13-race card. Dave Palone also enjoyed a big Friday with a triple.
