Ted Gewertz, Elmer Fannin, Robert Feldman and George Teague's Wind Me Up ($5, Montrell Teague) was a wire-to-wire winner in Monday's (August 20) $18,000 Open Pace at Harrington Raceway in 1:54. Sent off as the second choice behind heavily favored As Bad As Thunder who was bidding for his sixth straight harness racing win, Wind Me Up left alertly from the rail and assumed command which forced his rival to sit in the two hole to a quarter mile in 27.1.
Wind Me Up, a George Teague trainee, then marched to the half mile in 57.3 and three-quarters in 1:26 before holding off a late charge from As Bad as Thunder to the wire for a narrow win.
Bad Rusty finished third. Wind Me Up and As Bad As Thunder are familiar rivals and have finished 1-2 in four races this season at Harrington.
It was the third win of the year for Wind Me Up, a 4-year-oldstallion.
Montrell Teague and Tony Morgan each had a driving double.
