Local trotter Zoes Dream scored her first harness racing win at Yarra Valley today Monday the 15th of April.

Having just her third race start for the Gippsland Harness Training Centre, and first for Longwarry trainer Michael Hughes, Zoes Dream worked to the lead in the early stages after galloping at the start, and controlled the tempo throughout to hold off her challengers.

The mare was driven by leading reinsman Greg Sugars, who has driven Zoes Dream at her three starts for the Centre.

He told connections after her previous run that he would be happy to stick with the four-year-old, as he noted she was continually improving with each start.

She is by leading trotting sire Earl, sire of the well performed locally bred and owned trotter I See Icy Earl.

Smart punters snapped up odds of 10/1 about Zoes Dream on Monday.

Stablemate Drop of Paradise produced another honest run to finish fifth.

Both horses could possibly head interstate for their next start, with connections looking at races at the annual Coolamon trotters meeting in southern New South Wales on ANZAC Day for their next target.

The success of local horses at Monday's meeting continued when Jazzy Malone won the third event for owner/breeders John, Kath and Greg Fusinato and trainers Gary and Debbie Quinlan.

Jazzy Malone came from mid field to beat fellow local Intergalactic, whose trainer Lee Evison saddled up two second placegetters on the day.

Warragul harness racing returns on Monday week, April 29.
