WASHINGTON, PA, July 18, 2016 — Adios Week, the annual extravaganza of world-class harness racing and family fun at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino that this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, kicks off Saturday afternoon, July 23, with Adios eliminations. The final of the $500,000 (est) Adios, a showcase and proving ground for the sport's best 3-year-old pacers, is set for Saturday afternoon, July 30.
Between those two anchors, The Meadows and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) will provide a rich variety of musical entertainment, food and beverage specials, giveaways and contests designed for veteran fans as well as those new to the sport.
Throughout Adios Week, fans will enjoy video presentations and live interviews highlighting 50 years of the Pace for the Orchids, including rare footage of the late Delvin Miller, who founded The Meadows and the Adios and named the race for his foundation sire. Other Adios Week highlights include:
Saturday July 23. In addition to Adios elims, festivities include the annual Miss Adios contest — a perennial fan favorite — and an Adios hat giveaway (while supplies last) courtesy of Xpress Bet for Meadows Racing Player Rewards members.
Monday, July 25. Fans are invited to participate in a handicapping contest as well as Harness Racing Bingo.
Tuesday, July 26. Meadows Racing Player Rewards members can receive mystery vouchers and win cash prizes.
