Ocean City, MD – On a beautiful Sunday night (July 29) two splits for freshman filly pacers went to gate as races 1 and 5.
The first race saw Stay Beautiful (Heston Blue Chip) with Allan Davis in the bike charge out of the gate from post seven, get parked for the first 3/8 of the mile and go on to win in 1:58.3 with Dance The Can Cam ( Cam's Rocket) coming from fifth at the ¾ pole to get up for place.
Stay Beautiful is owned by Eli Scott Racing LLC, Barry Mandell and Larry Brown, Eli Scott does the training. Winbak Farm was the breeder.
The second division for two year old filly pacers was race five. The outside post was no deterrent for reinsman Frank Milby and How Bout Dat Rusty (Rusty's For Real) when they flew out of post eight taking the lead and never looking back stopping the clock in 1:57.
Final Escape finished second. Mike Hall trains for owner Al Carter and breeder Carter Racing Stable LLC.
Race two was the first division for two year old colt and gelding trotters. With multiple lead changes on the front end and several mis-ques in the back, Say Gesundheit (CR Commando) emerged the winner a head in front of Ja's A Lock, trotting the mile in 2:05.4.
Victor Kirby was in the bike for trainer Syl King Jr. and owner Steven Mullen, JJ & M Stable was the breeder.
The second split for colt and gelding trotters saw the Richard Hans owned entry sweep spots one and two with a pair of Googoo Gaagaa offspring. Driver Jim Morand behind Woopdee Goo took the lead by the half with Gaareat Gaazoo and Corey Callahan coming from mid-pack to get within a neck of the leader in the photo.
Richard Hans is also the trainer and breeder of the pair. Of note the third place horse, Mind Yown Business was also bred by Richard Hans. Time for the mile was 2:01.1
The stakes continue on Monday July 30 at Ocean Downs with the filly trotters and colt and gelding pacers.
