The colt/gelding trot opened the non-wagering harness racing card at Ocean Downs on Sunday night.

Hybrid Henry (Cam's Rocket) and driver Brian Burton gave the early crowd a Stakes record for 2YO trotting geldings with a mile in 2:00. LG's Hotshoe Boy finished second. Richard Hans owns, bred and trains the winner.

The combination of reinsman Bill Long and the trotting filly Holy Trout (Holy Guacamole) has proved to be hard to beat making it 2 for 2 in sire stakes preliminaries. Dr. William Solomon is the owner/breeder and Les Givens trains. Camita was up for place in the 2:02.1 mile.

The first division for pacing colt/geldings finished the early card with Mr Ham Sandwich (Cam's Rocket) making his racing debut a winning one for owner/breeder Brian Emerson. Russell Foster guided the colt for trainer Judy Welty. Welcome To The Party was 1¾ lengths back in the 2:03 mile.

Race 1 on the card was the second division for pacing colt/geldings. The rivalry between Toms Tarzan and Adios Muchachos is heating up with every start. Pilot Jim Morand has been getting the pocket trip each week with Adios Muchachos behind Toms Tarzan and just catching him at the wire in a photo. This week the margin was only a nose so the final next week should prove to be a very exciting race. Michael Hans is the owner/breeder of Adios Muchachos with Richard Hans training. Time for the mile was 1:58.1.

Two divisions of pacing fillies finished the stakes with races 3 and 6. Trainer/driver Eddie Dennis took advantage of the one post position sending Goodfridaymiracle (The Fraternity Pan) to the front to control the pace holding off Evergreen Marla in 2:01.1. Jeff and David Clark are co-owners and breeders of the winner.

The 6th race was the second split for the filly pacers with Miss Valerie (Allie's Western) improving her perfect record to 4 wins. Driver Roger Plante Jr. pulled Miss Valerie at the ¾ pole snatching the lead at the top of the stretch, pulling away by four lengths over Cheap Aint Fast, improving her record to 1:58.

The large crowd at Ocean Downs was treated to a demonstration of the versatility of the Standardbreds with Mandi Cool's Starting Gaits Transition Program between races.

Ocean Downs was also the first appearance of our sports newest ambassador Golden Receiver, he put on a demonstration of his transition to riding instead of driving and stopped in the winners circle for pictures.

A full field of 8 went to post in the RUS (Racing Under Saddle) event after the 6th race with Golden Receiver leading the post parade. In a very exciting race Mr Protab and Stephanie Jacobs crossed the wire in front stoppeing the clock in 2:02.1

Stakes continue on Thursday July 21 with the second prelims for three year olds.
