Once again the stallion Cam's Rocket's offspring won both on the trot and pace taking four of five harness racing Maryland Sire Stakes prelims at Ocean Downs on Sunday Aug. 14.

The non-wagering events started with the freshmen filly trotters.

Jim Morand sent his filly Camita (Cam's Rocket) right to the front where she was able to hold off Starz And Deuces in the 2:04.1 mile. Morand and Nanticoke Racing are co-owners and breeders with Les Givens doing the training.

There was no surprise in the colt and gelding trot as Hybrid Henry (Cam's Rocket) remains undefeated in six starts, trotting the mile in 2:00.3 for driver Brian Burton. Richard Hans owns, bred and trains the winner. LG's Hotshoeboy finished second.

In the first race on the evening card, the first split for colt and gelding pacers, there was a mild upset as Mr Ham Sandwich (Cam's Rocket) was able to catch the leader Adios Muchachos in the last turn stretching out to a 2½ length lead at the wire. Russell Foster was the reinsman for trainer Judy Welty and owner/breeder Brian Emerson stopping the clock in 1:57.3

The second split for colt and gelding pacers gave driver Brian Burton his second stakes win of the night behind the favorite Toms Tarzan (Cam's Rocket)cutting the mile in 1:59.2. Welcome To The Party was up for place. Thom Cooke is the owner and breeder of Toms Tarzan and Roger Hans trains.

Pilot Eddie Dennis sent Goodfridaymiracle (The Fraternity Pan) to the front taking control in the filly pace stopping the timer in 2:00.3 Maxkenna took the overland route to get up for second. Jeffery and David Clark are co-owners and breeders of Goodfridaymiracle.
