WASHINGTON, PA, March 12, 2018 — Save The Shark saved his best lick for last, barreling through the Lightning Lane to capture Monday's harness racing feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 Non-Winners Of 3 Conditioned Pace.
His Excellence made an easy lead but couldn't shake the pocket-sitting Save The Shark, who had been earning checks but no wins in the class. With the Lightning Lane available, Save The Shark and Tony Hall poured through to down His Excellence by 3/4 lengths in a career-best 1:54.4. Here Comes Stubbie rallied for show. Sarah Andrews owns and trains Save The Shark a 4-year-old Cam's Card Shark-Save My Life gelding.
Mike Wilder collected three wins on the 10-race card while trainer Kris Hite and owner Wendy Ross teamed to sweep the late Daily Double.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Tuesday, first post 1:05 PM.
