WASHINGTON, PA, May 6, 2014 -- Trailing by 5 lengths at the half, Tamarind unleashed his customary late kick to capture Tuesday's $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Tamarind followed the live first-over cover of Therapeutic before charging wide through the lane for Aaron Merriman. He scored in 1:54, 1-1/4 lengths better than the rallying Trustworthy Kid, who was pinned on the cones until late. Therapeutic hung on for show.

Bill Bercury trains and owns Tamarind, a 6-year-old son of Angus Hall-Spicegirl Kosmos who now boasts career earnings of $525,929.
