DOVER, Del.— Apple Bottom Jean, Use Your Noodle and Rowdy Patti, winners last week, lead eight to the starting gate in the $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) Two-Year-Old Filly Pace Final. The week’s top overnight trot, the $20,000 Open, shares top billing on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Dover Downs. First post is 4:30 p.m.
KDK Standardbred’s Apple Bottom Jean and reinsman Montrell Teague, seeks a championship repeat. The black filly won the $100,000 Harrington Final in October, Last Wednesday, Use Your Noodle, owned by Henry Faragalli III, Art Feeney, Trevor Johnson and Nanticoke Racing, scored the fastest prelim win, with Jim Morand in the bike. Two other 20,000 prelim winners are Rowdy Patti, trained and driven by Bryan Truitt, who co-owns the filly with Roland Hall,
Bobby Glassmeyer’s Eternal Rings and driver Jonathan Roberts and Joe Thomas’ Mortgage Bags who was an 86-1 longshot winner.
The rest of the competitive field is made up by Garnet O’Marrow’s Seboomook Up-Town with Allan Davis, second in last month’s $100,000 DSBF Final at Harrington, Delle Donne, with Ross Wolfenden driving for Brit Evans, Tina Clark and Foulk Stables, and Reuben and trainer Michelle King’s Skats Outa The Bags and Vic Kirby.
Carter Racing’s Fiftyshadesofrusty (Tony Morgan), JoAnn King’s Cougar Creek (Kirby) and trainer Bob Wyatt, Bill Kinnamon and Lou Wyatt’s Hairway To Heaven (George Denis) lead the $20,000 DSBF Consolation Pace.
Barbara Boese and trainer Joe Skowyra’s recent claim Prayer Session, from post 8, Callam Racings sharp Spunky Jack (Roger Plante), Powerful Charger (Kirby) racing for trainer Jim King and Tim Tetrick, trainer Leigh Raymer, Moss and the Solomons’ Tirade Hanover and highly thought-of Hemi Seelster (Wolfenden) owned by Carl Atley, Bob LeBlanc and Rich Lombardo are among a field of nine in the $20,000 Open trot feature on the regular program.
With the exception of this Thursday, when there is no racing on Thanksgiving Day, Monday through Thursday post time is 4:30 p.m. There is no live racing Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
