Blue Moon Stride (Rocknroll Hanover-Classic Star) among the more frugal harness racing acquisitions of Emilio and Maria Rosati of Sydney, is now over the million mark in earnings with a total of $1003,852 via a 1:49.4 wire to wire win over Darlinonthebeach (Somebeachsomewhere– Darlins Delight ) in the $30,000 Great Northeast series for mares at Harrahs Philadelphia on Sunday.
Mr. Rosati well known for pursuing sales topper quality yearlings at the U.S. sales acquired Blue Moon Stride as a weanling for just $27,000 from the final Perretti Farms dispersal in 2013 on advice from trainer Mark Harder and Perretti’s Bob Marks
“The dam Classic Star, a full sister to Bettor’s Delight and Roll With Joe was the last expensive mare I purchased for Perretti Farms at $135,000” said Marks “Blue Moon Stride was by far her best looking foal, so I suggested to good friend Mark Harder to buy her for the Rosatis and even if she doesn’t pan out, she would be a great broodmare candidate down there” Harder agreed that she was far better than her yearling sister we were also selling and the rest is history.
