Russ Foster drove Denise Dixon's Ken Kam, a winner of two of his last three starts, into an impressive 1:52.1 victory after being parked out for most of the race. On the other hand, Shellysblockbuster, driven by Allan Davis for owners Don Reed and trainer George Wagner, sixth at the three-quarters to a 1:51.4 score in his last outings. Heading the opposition is Art Stafford and trainer-driver Art Stafford Jr.'s Blazing Bobby Sox, starting from post 1.
Barry Rubinstein Farms' Cheyenne Jeffrey with Ross Wolfenden has been in the money in all five local starts with two of them victories. Other contenders are George&Tina Dennis and Ask W Stables' Roddy's Hot Again, Heather Malone's DCs Better Life with two straight second-places, with Corey Callahan in the bike. RBH Venture's Ideal Magic handled by Vic Kirby; Robbins Nest Farm's Gallic Beach and Montrell Teague and from post 8, JFE Enterprise and Triple D Stable's Bettors Glass with Jonathan Roberts.
In the second co-feature, Don't Ya Know (Callahan) is the one to beat. Casino Bags Carlo (Vince Copeland) has been racing well. Tom Kemp's Fire In The Belly (Bret Brittingham) leaves from the rail with Bob Coryea's I Wanna Go Fast (Foster) alongside. Idealbeach Hanover (Jim Morand) drew post 9 in the second tier for owners Ed Maas, Arlene Paisley and Nanticoke Racing.
