Vernon Downs welcomes three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 2-year-old harness racing trotting fillies on Saturday (August 15).

The John Butenschoen trained Destined To Dance (Tyler Buter) should be the big favorite in the $33,600 first division. The filly by Chapter Seven-Go Go is three for three on the NYSS circuit. She has claimed wins at Saratoga, Yonkers, and Batavia.

Her top contender should be Broad Strokes (Chapter Seven-Lady Marian). The filly is one for two in her career with a NYSS win at Batavia. She is trained and driven by Ake Svanstedt.

The top choice in the $34,200 second division is the Marcus Melander trained Insured AM S (Brian Sears). She is one for two in her career. The Chapter Seven-Blur Muscles filly captured a leg of the NYSS at Yonkers.

Her chief rival should be the Maureen Salino trained Credit Income (John Stark Jr.). The Credit Winner-Income Devie filly has a win and two seconds in three career starts.

Splash Blue Chip (Ake Svanstedt) and Iteration (Brian Sears) will be the major contenders in the $33,600 third division.

Splash Blue Chip (E L Titan-Dunk The Donato) is trained by Svanstedt. She has a NYSS win at Saratoga and a second-place finish at Yonkers in two lifetime starts.

The Marcus Melander trained Iteration (Chapter Seven-Steamy Windows) is one for two in her career. She finished a close second to Splash Blue Chip at Saratoga.
