DOVER, Del.— Quick Shot won the fastest in 1:50.4 with People Are Crazy, the second, of the Dr. M.L. King Jr. harness racing co-feature races on Monday, Jan. 16 at Dover Downs.
Jonathan Roberts teamed with Kathleen Brewer's Quick Shot to score a lifetime best 1:50.4 victory in the first of two Male paces. Leading though-out the five-year-old Art Major-Cannae Cindy gelding was chased home by DCs Better Life (Russ Foster), second, and Extreme Machine N (Allan Davis), third.
Vic Kirby won his fourth of the day steering People Are Crazy home in 1:52.3 in the other division. Gratian Hanover (Tony Morgan) closed to finished second in front of Up And Away ( Jim Morando), the show horse.
The two current red-hot driver of the meet, first place Vic Kirby and his closest challenger, Corey Callahan, had four winners apiece. Montrell Teague won a pair.

Enhance Your Mind, owned and trained by Bryan Truitt, with meet leading driver Vic Kirby at the controls, has shown she can front-pace or come from behind while at the Winners-Over level, she now steps up to meet the top distaffs at the track. L&L Stables’ Velocity Lana and driver Yannick Gingras has been right there with two seconds and a third in recent starts but drew the rail this week with Leigh Raymer, Moss and the Solomons’ sharp B Stern with Montrell Teague alongside.
Owner-trainer Gary Ewing’s Sweet Bobbie and Ross Wolflenden, won last week after three consecutive second-place finishes. Highly touted Lightning Mach N won her first three starts since arriving from Down Under. She was a beaten favorite finishing third a half-length off in her last start. The talented Nat A Virgin, reined by Corey Callahan raced well from post 9 last time and was a half-length from victory racing for J&TSilva and Robert Cooper stables. Hard-hitting Scandalicious, owned by JFE Enterprises, will be driven by Tony Morgan, from post 8.
There is an excellent supporting card on the all-female Tuesday program.
