DAYTON, OH. - Fan Of Terror (Dan Noble) notched the first sub-1:50 mile of the young season at Hollywood Dayton Raceway, scoring in 1:49.3 in the initial $17,500 Open Pace of the meet.

The razor-sharp 7-year-old gelded son of Western Terror has had a sensational harness racing season winning half of his 28 starts and banking $179,475.

Second choice My Hero Ron (Tyler Smith) fired off the gate for early command, stopping the initial quarter timer in :26.2 with Tookadiveoffdipper (Brett Miller) in tow and Fan Of Terror dropping in third. In the stretch the first time, Noble shot the winner to the lead before hitting the halfway beam in :53.3.

Never seriously challenged thereafter, Fan Of Terror tripped the three quarter station beam in 1:22 before tacking on the final :27.3 panel. My Hero Ron hung tough for second with Tookadiveoffdipper garnering the show dough.

Therl Hensley owns Fan Of Terror, who now sports 38 career wins and is nearing $400,000 in career purse winnings. He is conditioned by Peter Redder.

For Noble, the Open Pace triumph was his sixth on the program. His other winners were Guns And Roses (1:52.2, $3.20), Trixsen Gram (1:52, $6.40), Mr Julian (1:52, $3.80), Shagnwiththedragon (1:51.2, $5.40) and Hash Tag Swag (1:51.2, $3.40).

Hollywood Dayton Raceway will be dark Monday through Thursday, in deference to Little Brown Jug week at the Delaware, Ohio county fairgrounds. Racing will resume Friday night, September 20 with a 6:15 p.m. post time.
