WILKES-BARRE PA – The pacing mare Unbeamlieveable is now 3-for-3 for owner Gilbert Garcia-Owen and trainer/father Gilbert Garcia-Herrera after a recent claim, winning Monday night's $14,000 mares claiming handicap pace feature at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono in 1:52.1, just a fifth off her life mark despite only "good" going.
The daughter of Moon Beam was sent right to the front by the meet's leading driver, George Napolitano Jr., and never looked back, rattling off numbers of 27, 56.2, and 1:24 en route to a two-length tally over JK's Nancy Lee, those two producing an Exacta for the second straight week in this class.
This was the 40th win of the former fair star's career, and boasted her lifetime earnings to $202,952.
FINISHING LINES – The draw for Saturday's eliminations for June 30's $2,000,000 Sun Stakes Saturday was held today, with the main stories being the filly Manchego putting her undefeated status on the line against colts in the Beal Trot; Lather Up and Done Well, the 1-2 finishers in last Saturday's North America Cup final, drawing tough posts in the same elimination for the Hempt Pace; and Filibuster Hanover looking to keep his seasonal record unblemished in the Franklin Pace. A release with a morning line and final driving assignments for this Saturday's elims will be distributed tomorrow afternoon.
