Ocean City, MD – Nvrfearlloydishere (Rusty's All In) scored his fourth straight victory taking the first division of the Maryland Sire Stakes for pacing colts and geldings at Ocean Downs Friday, controlling all the fractions in the 1:55.4 mile. Eddie Davis Jr. was between the wheels for owner/breeder Pamela Wagner and trainer Arlene Cameron. Who's That Rascal (Rusty's For Real) took the place spot.
The first split for trotting fillies went to post as race 2. Reinsman John Wagner sent K J Deb (Lockkepper) out of the gate, taking air clear past the quarter before getting the lead from Callmegaga (GooGoo GaaGaa) opening up four lengths on the field stopping the timer in 1:59.2. Callmegaga finished second. Arlene Cameron trains for co-owner and breeder Scott Woogen and Pamela Wagner.
The second division for the pacing colts and geldings came on the track for the third race. Local Berlin horseman Bill Long sent Tough Old Hickory (Rusty's For Real) gate to wire in 1:57.3 finishing 1 ¾ lengths ahead of Franco (Rusty's All In). Long trains Tough Old Hickory for the Estate of Dale Massey.
The final preliminary saw the trotting fillies go to the gate in race 5. After interference at the start, pilot Victor Kirby, sent Goodygoodytwoshoes (GooGoo GaaGaa) after the leader Going Gaa Gaa (GooGoo GaaGaa) securing the front end by the 3/8 pole and opening up three lengths on the field in the 2:01.1 mile. Going Gaa Gaa finished second. Arlene Cameron owns and trains the winner. Ashley Lynn Rodeheaver is the breeder.
Ocean Downs will host all four Maryland Sire Stake Finals for 3 year olds on Friday August 14. The points for the horses that qualified for the finals will be available on the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund website at www.msrfonline.com.
