Welcome

Alta Dream Lodge is situated in Waiau Pa, South Auckland on 35 acres of prime pasture. The property is established with expansive views of the Manukau Harbour sweeping from Grahams Beach in the west to the city in the North. We can see the Sky Tower and even Rangitoto Island in the distance on a clear day.

We have done a virtual makeover to transform the property to a horse friendly unit. All new post and rail fences compliment the barberry hedges. The hay barn and stable complex with roomy boxes for nine yearlings are now complete and operational. Recently, we leased 18 adjoining acres to provide a winter run-off for the mares only.

Update 02/01/09

All foaling is now complete - we had the good fortune to get 8 colts from 8 live foals. Our focus is now on the upcoming yearling sales at Karaka on 14th February 2009

In the mean time, the full sister to Charlemagne, Lot 40, Earl's Lady, recorded another win at Cambridge to provide a timely reminder of the quality and depth in this fine trotting family.

Foaling continues at pace

Sand Skipper and Upon a Star both produced good-sized bay colts by Grinfromeartoear.

We also have a nice compact Falcon Seelster colt from Whisper Atom (not the filly we wanted!)

Current News 9/10/08

Our first foal (pictured left) has arrived on farm - a nice leggy son of Attorney General from Ngatarawa Flyer p.1.59.2, 2 wins 11 places.

We now own this mare outright which is good news as her first four foals have all made it to the races with three being good winners to date.

Sadly, we lost our foundation broodmare Heard A Whisper two nights ago as she endeavoured to produce a malformed foal. Her matriarch record was exceptional, 4 foals racing for 3 winners all in p.1.55 - p.1.56.
Hopefully, her daughter Whisper Atom produces a nice size Falcon Seelster filly for us to race and, later, breed from.
