Derek is a dedicated Pukekohe based Trainer and Driver with over 20 years experience, who is honest and paitent, allowing horses to develop to their true potential.

Derek is widely regarded within the industry as one of the top Trainers and Drivers of trotters and pacers in New Zealand. Derek also has international training and driving experience in Australia and USA.

With multiple Group 1 successes in the trotting gait, GALLEONS SUNSET holds the recent accolades of the stable, winning the 2008 INTERDOMINION TROTTING FINAL and the BILL COLLINS MILE. Retired star, MARTINA H, holds the ROWE CUP and DOMINION HANDICAP in her trophy cabinet.

Training pacers has also been a credit to Derek, of note open class horse JAG STAR winning the group 2 FLYING MILE.

Our large stable facilites are located in Pukekohe, adjacent to the Pukekohe Training Tracks.

Situated on 12 acres, we are a short drive to the beach for soft sand workouts and to the local horse swmming facility for alternative fitness training.

Our professional and efficient staff are committed to the racing team and offer riding training as an alternative to "being in the cart" everyday.
