CLOSELY RELATED TO SASSY SARAH

A THREE-year-old filly closely related to former champion pacer SASSY SARAH makes her race debut at Terang on Wednesday, June 6.

LORDY GIRL (Safely Kept-Elysees Elle) is out of the Heywood barn of Kevin Brough and will come out of gate three in the Talisman Floats Three-Year-Old Pace, 1680m (8.00pm).

Elysees Elle (seven wins and $47,000) is a full sister to Sassy Sarah’s mother Sassy Gina, being by French Chef and out of Motoring Sassy, which left seven winners.

Sassy Sarah (by Walton Hanover) won 23 of 49 starts and had a best mile rate of 1:56.8.

WELL CONNECTED GIRL

A HALF-sister to outstanding West Australian pacer of the late 1980s and early 1990s, ZAKARA, has her first taste of racing at Maryborough on Wednesday, June 6.

Kilmore trainer Annetto Mifsud gears up EFFICIENT (Pacific Fella-Take Manhattan) in the Mark Hayes Two-Year-Old Pace, 1690m (12.37pm).

Take Manhattan was unraced as the last foal out of Honest Talk (Honest Master-Speech), which left nine winners including Zakara (by Racy Prince).

Zakara had a marvellous racing career in WA, winning 44 of 134 starts and being placed 49 times for almost $480,000 in stakes and a best winning mile rate of 1:57.

NEWS South Wales pacer KINGSTAR’S career record continues to stand the test of time as one of best progeny of grand sire PANORAMA.

Kingstar won 34 of 65 starts for $470,000, with a best winning mile rate of 1:50.8.

Some of his deeds will be recalled when the Blake Fitzpatrick-trained ROYAL JENNAS makes her debut in the a NSW Sires Stakes heat for two-year-old fillies, 2160m, at Harold Park on Tuesday, June 5 (2.30pm).

She has drawn barrier four.

Royal Jennas (by Jennas Beach Boy) is out of unraced mare Royal Abby (Abercrombie-Taurus Lady), which is a half is a half-sister to Kingstar.

Taurus Lady (by Overtrick) has left six winners, which also feature Golden Spur (21 wins), Royal Khan (15 wins) and Royal Chef (15 wins).

LAURICKS Pride has been a prolific broodmare over two decades for Northern Victorian horseman Rick Hasty.

She has produced 11 winners, beginning with her second foal Rick’s Hope from 1984 (five wins), Jib Jab Joe (four), Strapper Jim (12), Robyns Joy (18), Paper Plate John (seven), Send Me A Dream (23), Tiz Herself (six), Her Spark Self (26), Robric Jonboy (28), Robric Walter (one) and Pride Kept me (four).

Another offspring CUMULATIVE DREAMS begins his quest to add the already imposing record in the Dick and Anne Box Three-Year-Old Pace, 1680m, at Terang on Wednesday, June 6 (9.00pm).

Cumulative Dreams is by Astreos.

SEND ME DREAM (by Sandman Hanover) earned $160,000 in his distinguished racing career; HER SPARK SELF (by Exotic Earl) had stakes of $220,00; ROBRIC JONBOY (by Walton Hanover) is a veteran of 141 starts for $220,000; and ROBYNS BOY (by Muckalee Strike) also topped $100,000 in earnings.

MARYBOROUGH MAGIC MOMENT

MARYBOROUGH two-year-old winner COBARGO MAGIC rekindled memories of legendary sire AACHEN.

Cobargo Magic’s great granddam Lotus Lady is by Aachen.

A 1952 foal, Aachen was by Springfield Globe, a son of the great Globee Derby.

Aachen won his first 20 starts and his race career ultimately ended after a training accident.

His greatest progeny included 1969 Inter-Dominion Pacing Championship winner Richmond Lass, Bold Alabar and Bylaw.

Another daughter Virgil Queen became the fastest race mare in Australia in 1977 when she ran 1:57.9 Cobargo Magic (by What’s Next) is the fourth winner out of Cobargo Doll, which won eight races as one of five winners produced by Cobargo Lady.

Redcourt (by Fake Left) was the most prolific of her progeny, winning 36 of 229 starts and being placed 73 times.

Ido is a Red Coach Glory mare out of Entrepreneur mare Lucky Dinah.

Ido won six of 51 starts and has left four winners, including Demon Joe (by Maori’s Idol) 11 wins; Dondo (by Sundon) five wins; and Printer (by Safely Kept) one win.

Her race career included three wins on end at Shepparton and Moonee Valley (twice) in 1995.

Lord of the Gym is the first foal out of Torado Hanover mare Chancery Lane, which won 11 of 28 starts.

The first winner from two foals to race out of Past Judgment is another Torado Hanover mare.

Past Judgment (seven wins) is a daughter of Majestic Maori, which is out of the top broodmare Maori Mara – a sister of Maori’s Idol.

Majestic Maori produced eight winners in a stud career spanning two decades.

The Tatlow Stakes will also feature Skyvalley, a son of smart trotting mare Chiola’s Lass (10 wins and $157,000) and half brother to top class New Zealand squaregaiter Allegro Agitato (14 wins and $290,000).

BODICA (by Armbro Operative) became the second winner out of Classic Garry mare RUBY ACRES in a two-year-old pace, 1800m, at Globe Derby Park on Monday, June 4.

La Rubis is her other winner.

Three-year-old filly PERFECT BONUS (by Armbro Operative) had her seventh win in an R1 pace, 1800m, at Globe Derby Park on Monday, June 4.

Lucky Punch has won 18 times for $170,000 and a best mile rate of 1:56.7, while Lucky Bonus is a six-time winner.
