The American bred and raced Propulsion (7m Muscle Hill-Danae-Andover Hall) was a game 1.11.4kr timed winner of Saturday’s Boden, Sweden featured Gr, I International, UET Masters Series, Norrbottens Stora Pris with 1SEL million to the winner. The distance was 2140 meters autostart. Propulsion drew post 10 in a field of 9 (after post 1 Sorbet was scratched) and was away at the back, Driver Orjan Kihlstrom made an aggressive three wide move  after 600 meters and drew alongside then leading Nadal Broline that had taken the front from Arazi Boko.  Nadal’s driver Ulf Ohlsson refused to let Propulsion pass and the pair raced nose to nose until top of stretch when Nadal faded and Makethemark (5m Maharajah-Global Naughty-Conway Hall) rallied three wide off the turn for Bjorn Goop. His charge was less than a length short while Arazi Boko (11g Varenne-Laura Kemp-Express Ride) held third on the pegs for Jorma Kontio On the Boden undercard was the V75 Bronze that went to 8/1 Dice Man (5g SJs Caviar-International Red-International Chip) with Bjorn Goop up for Stall Courant AB and trainer Stefan Melander. Race time was 1.12.5kr over 1640 meters autostart with 125,000SEK to the winner. Mellby Dealer (6g Going Kronos) and Ebony Bond (7g Chocolatier) trailed the winner. April 21, 2018 - Today’s featured Seinajoki Race in Finland (purse €70,000, 2100 meters autostart) went to veteran campaigned Call Me Keeper (8m Pine Chip-Elia Keeper-Credit Winner) timed in 1.12.7kr and reined by Orjan Kihlstrom for trainer Daniel Reden. Call Me Keeper now has earnings of €594,780. Peace of Mind (7f Uronometro-Erica d’Alfa-Sugarcane Hanover) took second for Italy’s Alessandro Gocciador, ahead of the Johan Untersteiner piloted Pastor Bob. The week in Scandinavia was interesting. On April 17 at Solvalla Perfect Spirit (4m Andover Hall-Good Common Cents-Kadabra) won a 1660 meter voltstart event for 60,000SEK. Orjan Kihlstrom teamed the 1.12kr timed winner that SRF Stable owns and Hanover Shoe Farm bred. Daniel Reden now trains this horse that won last year’s Hambletonian on a dq. Muscleman FI was second and Mellby Fantom was third this day. Reportedly Perfect Spirit will next race at Aby on April 27. Also at Solvalla Lionel (8m Look de Star-Aurora Sign-Smok’n Lantern) was a dead-heat winner of a 75,000SEK, 2140 meter contest. Goran Antonsen owns and drive Lionel that Daniel Reden trains. He hit the wire with Charrua Forlan (8g Up Front Larry-Friska Bar-Frisky Frazer) and driver Hans Owe Sundberg. Third was the Erik Adielsson reined Giveitgasandgo with French Laundry home fourth. July 25, 2017 - Harness racing driver Orjan Kihlstrom piloted Propulsion (6m Muscle Hill-Danae-Andover Hall) to a quick decisive victory in tonight’s Hugo Abergs Memorial (1SEK million to the winner, 1609 meters autostart, 10 starters) clocked in 1.08.1kr (mile rate 1:49.57). Propulsion, trained by Daniel Reden for Stall Zet, left from post one and found a position second over as Twister Bi (5m Varenne-Lorraine Bi-Lemon Dra) set a fast pace for Christoffer Eriksson after causing a recall and being fired up. He traveled the initial 500 meters in 1.06.7kr. This Jerry Riordan trainee held gamely for third as stablemate Ringostarr Treb (7m Classic Photo-Farsalo Egral-Supergill) emerged from the peg pocket to close rapidly for second driven by Wim Paal. Propulsion successfully defended his Abergs victory a year ago and set a new mile autostart record in Sweden as he was the favorite off at 1.8/1. Shadow Gar and Carabinieri finished fourth and fifth. Propulsion The undercard was a good one this day in the rain, over a sloppy track and with 10,673 folks in attendance. I International UET Masters, 1,000,000SEK to the winner, 2140 meters autostart, 10 starters) clocked in 1.10.8kr and reined by Orjan Kihlstrom. Stall Zet owns Propulsion, now with a 2-3-0 slate in eight 2017 starts for 3,773,250SEK for the year. His career late is 21-8-4 in 45 outings for 9,607,195SEK earned. The 1.6/1 favorite defeated Italy’s Oasis Bi (9m Toss Out-Up Front JM-Self Possessed) with Kim Eriksson up and In Vain Sund 5m Revenue-Staro Yasmine-Supergill) with Per Linderoth up, again for the Reden/Stall Zet team. Nadal Broline and Rocky Winner completed the top five. On the undercard was the Sven Ekonomi V75 Silver raced over 2140 meters autostart for 125,000SEK first prize. May 27, 2017 - What a beginning to the Elite Weekend! Huge crowd, fantastic weather, great harness racing…nothing could be better. Stefan Melander’s owned and trained Volstead (6m Cantab Hall-Madame Volo-Yankee Glide) took the Sweden Cup Final (Gr. II, UET Masters Series, 600,000SEK to winner, 1640 meters autostart, nine starters) in Europe’s fastest time of the year 1.09.3kr with Orjan Kihlstrom aboard. The winner traveled in the death seat, as he did winning elimination #3, and eased past chief rival and pacesetter Vasterbo Highflyer (9g Look de Star-Vasterbo Highclass-Pine Chip) and driver Johan Untersteiner nearing the line. The 3.6/1 favorite won his elim, the third, timed in 1.09.7kr ahead of Buzz Mearas, Gabriel Gelormini driving, and Trendy OK with Alesssando Gocciadoro up. Third in the final was Ringostarr Treb (7m Classic Photo-Farsalo Egral-Supergill) with Wim Paal up for trainer Holger Ehlert, and the next two were Spitcam Jubb and BBS Sugarlight. Ringostarr was the 3/1 winner of elim two clocked in 1.10.1kr, defeating aforementioned Spitcam Jubb (6h Campbell Hall-Lola Spit-Super Arnie) and Fire To The Rain (6g Yankee Glide-Adelaide Hall-Conway Hall). The elims were worth 100,000SEK to those winners. The other elim, the first, was taken by 12/1 Briedablicks Nubbe (5m Lindy Lane-Wildgirl Boshoeve-Starchip Entrprise), shown below, for driver /trainer Conrad Lugauer timed in 1.09.5kr, that time equaled the European season record when made. Vasterbo Highflyer and BBS Sugarlight were the next two home in that elim. Volstead Undercard action included a victory by the Tom Dillon USA bred Seaside Illusion (4f Muscle Hill-Seaside-Yankee Glide) in a conditioned event for four year-old mares, with 100,000SEK to the winner of the 2140 meter autostart event. She was timed in 1.11.9kr for driver Erik Adielsson and trainer Frode Hamre. Gisela de Veluwe and Tour Knight were next.Seaside Illusion Mares also battled in the Ladt Snarts (200,000SEK to the winner, 140 meters autostart) and the quick 1.10.3kr timed winner was 7.7/1 Shadow Gar (6f Pine Chip-Lady Killer Gar-Varenne) handled by Pietro “Pippo” Gubellini for trainer Erik Bondo and Allev. Tobin Kronos is two for two in 2017 and 11 for 26 lifetime for 2,531,836SEK earned. 4.6/1 Cruzado dela Noche (5m Muscle Massive-Alidade-Credit Winner) earned second money for driver Per Linderoth, trainer Stefan Melander and for owner Courant AB. Third was 3.6/1 In Vain Sund (5m Revenue-Staro Yasmine-Supergill) reined by Erik Adielsson  for trainer Reden. On the undercard was the V75 Gold Olympiatravet Test#4 (150,000SEK to the winner, 2140 meters autostart) and the 1.2/1 favorite Propulsion (6m Muscle Hill-Danae-Andover Hall) scored victorious timed in 1.12.7kr. April 1, 2017 - Harness racing driver Orjan Kihlstrom piloted 1.18/1 odds Delicious U.S. to the front in front of stands on the first lap and they coasted to a two length score in the Solvalla AM Print-Pixies (purse 200,000SEK to the winner, total purse 409,500SEK, 1640 meters autostart). The eight year old daughter of Cantab Hall-Ipsara LB-Lemon Dra recorded her second 2017 win in as many starts and now has 26 career wins in 51 outings for 6,346,571SEK earned. Daniel Reden trains the Stall Zet owned mare that was bred in the USA by Lindy Farms. Windy Ways (7f Conway Hall-Southwind Flanders-Lindy Lane) was second for Johnny Takter and trainer Reden at 9.39/1. Pasithea Face (5f Muscle Hill-Jovelinotte-Passionnant) was third for Adrian Kolgjini at 5.06/1. March 22, 2017 - Harness racing trainer Stefan Melander’s Nuncio (6m Andover Hall-Nicole Isabelle-Lindy Lane), off at 1.09/1 odds,  recorded his second straight 2017 victory tonight at Solvalla for teamster Orjan Kihlstrom clocked in 1.12.2kr. The race was the Kentucky Fibbers with 80,000SEK to the winner over the 1640 meter autostart course. Nuncio led throughout during modest fractions (1.14kr at the first 500 meters; 1.13.7kr at the first 1000) and held off fast closing 9.67/1 Volstead (6m Cantab Hall-Madame Volo-Yankee Glide) by a short length, the latter reined by Erik Adielsson for trainer Melander. Arden Homestead Stable bred Volstead and Russell Williams (new USTA President) bred Nuncio, now with a career slate of 39-12-2 in 53 starts for 27,803,230SEK earned. Nuncio was a perfect 11 for 11 in 2016. 12.9/1 Coldtown (8g Cantab Hall-Brylin Starlet-Balanced Image) landed the third spot. Nuncio tonight took the next step toward the 2017 Elitloppet. Thomas H. February 18, 2017 - Nuncio (6m Andover Hall-Nicole Isabelle-Lindy Lane) record an easy, and well-rated. front end harness racing victory tonight in the V75 Gold at Axevalla in Sweden. The Orjan Kihlstrom driven and Stefan Melander trained and owned (Stall TZ) champion was timed in 1.15.7kr (fractions: 1.17.3kr at first 500 meters; 1.18.3kr at the first 1000; 1.18.1kr at the 1500) over 2140 meters autostart to earn 150,000SEK first prize. Nuncio last raced September 18, 2016 at Bjerke. Russell C. Williams of Hanover, PA bred Nuncio, the 1.07/1 favorite that bested 30.79/1 Bruno di Quattro (9m Broadway Hall-Ussel-Speedy Soma) with Kenneth Haugstad up and 31.88/1 Art On Line (9g Rite On Line-Fleur-Backstreet Guy) for Johnny Takter. Winmecredit and Spring Erom were fourth and fifth. Nuncio’s career slate now stands at 38-12-2 in 52 starts for 27,723,230SEK earned. He is now 12 for 12 in 2016-17. Delicious (7f Cantab Hall-Ipsara LB-Lemon Dra) easily took today’s Giant Diablo (200,000SEK to winner, 1649 meters autostart, 12 starters) at Solvalla for harness racing driver Orjan Kihlstrom. Daniel Reden trains the undefeated mare in 2016 (five straight) for Stall Zet. She recorded career win 24 in 49 starts, now for 6,111,572SEK earned. Patricia Hastrup (9f Great Challenger-Isabella Hastrup-Sugarcane Hanover) was second for Bjorn Goop and Georgie Mae (6f Valley Victor-Missymandarine-Malabar Man) was third with Johan Untersteiner driving. Delicious left alertly from post one, settled on the pegs and then made a decisive move to the lead at the three-eighths pole. From there she was a good four lengths or more in the clear. Time was 1.09.8kr after quick steady fractions (1.09.5kr after 500 meters and 1.09.3kr at the 1000 mark). Delicious win today starts the speculation of her, Nuncio and Bold Eagle in the 2017 Prix d’Amerique, now four months away. Today’s Gr. I International Sundsvall Open at Bergsaker (total purse €188,475, 2140 meters autostart, 10 starters) went to harness racing 3/10 favorite Nuncio (5m Andover Hall-Nicole Isabelle-Lindy Lane) handled by Orjan Kihlstrom.  The winner is trained by Stefan Melander for his Stall TZ. Nuncio, bred by Russell Williams of Pennsylvania, is now 8-2-0 in 10 starts in 2016 and has a 34-14-2 slate in 50 career starts for 24,931,376SEK earned. Off on the lead from post one, Nuncio parked contesting Oasis Bi not allowing that one the front, and then fought off Call Me Keeper (that made a miscue with a quarter mile remaining) and a parked three wide Anna Mix.
