Tiger Thompson N roars home and wins the Open pace at Dover Downs on Thursday night. Tiger Thompson N and Goldberg left quickest off the gate.  Goldberg led the field through an opening quarter in 26 seconds flat. Dexter Dunn sensed the pace was pedestrian,  pulled the pocket with Tiger Thompson N in front of the stands. The half was reached in 55 seconds flat. The quarter was a routine 28.4. The action picked up as Itsrockandroll A paced first over past the five eighths. Corey Callahan was able to entice Tyga Hanover  and Yannick Gingras, off the rail and found cover, second over on the rim.. Tiger Thompson N  maintained a length lead and reached the three quarters in 1:22.2.  That quarter was paced up in 27.2. At the top of the stretch, Yannick Gingris ducked to the rail with Tyga Hanover saving his mount for a late surge. In the lane, a thrilling stretch duel between both horses ensued. At the finish line, Tiger Thompson N ruled supreme, and won by a neck in 1:50 flat. Tiger Thompson N ( Big Jim) is owned by Nanticoke Racing, Josh Parker  S. Marloe Hanover wires the field in the Mares Open/Select pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday (Jan.20) night. Marloe Hanover was launched from post eight by harness racing driver Andrew McCarthy at the start of the race. She was parked to the quarter in :26.3 by a headstrong Shes Pukk N and Tony Morgan. Marloe Hanover led the field to the half in :55.1. Dexter Dunn hustled Any Time N to the outside from fifth and raced coverless down the backstretch in pursuit of the leader. Marloe Hanover reached the three quarters in 1:23.3. In the stretch, Marloe Hanover N dug to win by a diminishing half length in 1:51.1 and paced the final quarter in :27.3. Marloe Hanover (Captaintrecherous) the 4/5 race favorite, is owned by Let It Ride Stables Inc. Nifty Norman trains and Andrew McCarthy drove. Shes Pukka N secured the pocket and finished second for trainer Brian Malone and driver Tony Morgan. Anytime N raced a grueling first over trip and finished third. Josh Green trains and Dexter Dunn drove. Dexter Dunn and Tim Tetrick each won three races on the card. On Thursday (Jan.21) Dover Downs will offer a $10,000 guaranteed Pick-5 with a 15% takeout.The Pick-5 begins with the 10th race and concludes on the 14th race. Pat Matters dominates the Open Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night. At the start of the race, Warrior One and Scirocco Rob left for  early race position nearing the quarter.  Pat Matters and Andrew McCarthy settled in third at the start then launched a quick brush and took control of the race. The quarter was reached in a rapid 27.1.  Pat Matters and Andrew McCarthty continued unchallenged and trotted to the half in 55.4. Scirocco Rob and Tim Tetrick pulled off the rail from third and went into attack mode.  The three quarters were reached in 1:23.4.  The quarter was trotted in 28 seconds flat.   At the top of the stretch,  Pat Matters appeared to taunt her male harness racing counterparts and left them in her dust.   Pat Matters won in 1:51.4 with a last quarter in 28 seconds flat and a last half in 56 seconds. She won by a convincing, two lengths and paid $8.40 to win. Pat Matters was able to avenge her fourth place finish from last week. When asked, driver Andrew McCarthy stated “ last week I was unkind to her and roughed her up a bit. I wanted to sit behind JL Cruze last week but he was not good.  This week I was easier on her and she responded”. Pat Matters ( Explosive Matter) is owned by Patricia Stable.  Nifty Norman is her trainer. Warrior One, sat the pocket for trainer Ron Burke and driver Yannick Gingras. They finished second. Scirocco Rob, the race favorite, was third.  Mark Silva is the trainer and Tim Tetrick, the driver. On Thursday,  Dover Downs will offer a $10,000 guaranteed Pick 5 wager, with a 15% take out. Itsrockandroll A storm's home to harness racing victory and wins the Open Pace at Dover Downs on Thursday night. US Captain and Tiger Thompson N traded leads going to the quarter pole. Dexter Dunn won that early battle and retained the lead. The quarter was reached in 27.1.  The half was reached uncontested in 55.2. At the five eighths marker,  Itrockandroll A and Corey Callahan pulled off the rail from fifth and inched their way 1st over, down the backside. Tiger Thompson N was challenged to the three quarters in 1:22.4,  pacing a quarter in 27.2 Soho Burning Love A, who  was competing against the boys for the first time, shadowed Itsrockandroll A on the outside.   Corey Callahan was able to keep Soho Burning Love A at bay on the rim and zeroed in on Tiger Thompson N in the deep stretch.  Itsrockandroll A won by a nose in 1:50.2 and paid $7. Itsrockandroll A ( A Rocknroll Dance)  is owned by Michael Casalino Jr. and Dylan Davis.  Dylan Davis trained and Corey Callahan drove a masterful race. Tiger Thompson N finished second and raced gallantly for trainer Joshua Parker.  Dexter Dunn was the chauffier. Soho Burning Love A ,  the three to five race favorite, was a fast closing third, for trainer Jim King Jr. and driver Tim Tetrick. Sadly, Joe Wehausen, the owner of Sandy’s Bolt who finished 6th in the race, passed away suddenly last week.  Our condolences to his family. Moments of Joy is victorious in the Mares Select Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday night. Moments of Joy benefitted from a textbook, perfect harness racing drive by Victor Kirby, and won the Mares Select Pace at Dover Downs. Moments Of Joy and My Last Bet left alertly for early race position at the quarter. My Last Bet and Montrell Teague Jr. rushed back to the top as Moments Of Joy accepted the pocket. My Last Bet, broke the beam, at the quarter in 26.4.  She continued on the lead to the half in 55.3. Edge Of Eternity moved 1st over, past the half, and pressured My Last Bet through the three quarters in 1:23.4.  They matched strides pacing that quarter in 28.1. In the stretch, Victor Kirby and Moments Of Joy saved every inch of ground on the rail, and won by three quarters of length in 1:52.4  Moments of Joy returned $9 for the win. Moments Of Joy (Western Terror) is owned and trained by Bryan Truitt. Victory Kirby drove. Edge Of Eternity, eventually, wore down pacesetter My Last Bet and finished second for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. and driver Corey Callahan. Scuola Hanover finished a fast closing third.  Andrew Stafford was the trainer.  Art Stafford Jr. was the driver. Jack Vernon upsets,  in the Open Handicap Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night. With the scratches of Eye OfA Tiger As and Scirocco Rob, the open trot was relegated to a harness racing field of six quality trotters. There was a 3 horse scramble for the early lead.  Warrior One, Pat Matters and JL Cruze all left in a line, for the early lead. JL Cruze muscled his way to the top. Pat Matters, the even odds race favorite, accepted the pocket and Warrior One dropped into the three hole at the quarter. JL Cruze led the field to a hard fought quarter in 26.4.  Then raced uncontested on the lead, through a 55.1 half. Jack Vernon and Corey Callahan picked up a second over trip as Warrior One attacked 1st up nearing the three quarter pole.  The three quarters were trotted in 1:24 as JL Cruze,  the leader, became leg weary and started to fade. Midway in the stretch,  Jack Vernon was able to storm past Warrior One and won by three quarters of a length in 1:53.  Jack Vernon was sent off at odds of 5-1   Jack Vernon (Muscle Hill) is owned by Howard Taylor and Michael Casalino Jr.  Dylan Davis trained and Corey Callahan drove. Warrior One, finished second for trainer Ron Burke.  Yanick Gingras drove All Champy was third for trainer Sofia Zingale. Ross Wolfenden was the driver. Pat Matters, the even odds favorite was fourth. JL Cruze finished sixth Corey Callahan won four races on the card. There is a $28,600 pic 5 carry over for tomorrow’s races.   The pic 5 is a fifty cent minimum bet and is wagered on the last five races. Itsrockandroll A captures the Open Handicap pace at Dover Downs on Thursday night. At the start of the race, Itsrockandroll A left quickly, and driver Corey Callahan was able to settle into third. Trojan Banner N and Shneoncrzydiamond A disputed the early lead. Trojan Banner N won that early battle and led the field to the quarter in 28.1. Itsrockandroll A took his cue and sprinted from third past the quarter to gain command reaching the half in 56.1. Goldberg, normally on the lead, raced from off the pace and rallied on the outside picking up horses one by one down the backstretch. The three quarters were reached in 1:24.1  Goldberg was able to grab the lead but not the rail as a stubborn Itsrockandroll A fought back at the top of the stretch. In the deep stretch,  Itsrockandroll A retained the lead late, and won by a neck, as the even odds favorite.  The race time was 1:51.2 Itsrockandroll A (A Rocknroll Dance) is owned by Michael Casalino Jr. and Dylan Davis. Pat Matters earns a harness racing track record in victory Tuesday night at Dover Downs. Pat Matters shattered the track record for older trotting mares at Dover Downs. The record was previously held by Buck I St. Pat of 1:53 in 2008. Pat Matters left alertly and took the field through a quick 26.2 opening quarter. Warrior One was parked to the quarter and motored up before the half seizing the lead from Pat Matters. The half was trotted in 55 seconds flat. At the 5/8 ths, Andrew McCarthy boldly pulled the pocket as Warrior One began to labor, angling off the rail to take the lead. Jack Vernon challenged the leader to the three quarters which was trotted in 1:23. At the top of the stretch, Jack Vernon and the 7/5 race favorite Scirocco Rob closed stoutly but could not make up any ground on Pat Matters. Pat Matters, the lone mare in the race, reached down for more trot and won by a half length in 1:51.2 and an aged mare track record. Pat Matters (Explosive Matter) is owned by Patricia Stables. The red hot Nifty Norman is her trainer and Andrew McCarty her driver. Jack Vernon raced first over but finished second for trainer Dylan Davis and driver Corey Callahan. Race favorite Scirocco Rob finished third for trainer Mark Silva and driver Tim Tetrick. Pat Matters Owners, George and Tina Dennis, trainer Joe Columbo and driver Mike Cole combined for a racing grand slam by winning four races. Lou’s Lucky’s Girl and Under Contract completed the daily double. Cashmeonthetrack took the fourth race. Blue Cupertino won the eight and notched win number four. World Champion Shartin N, will lead the field in the post parade for the 11th race Mares Open pace on Wednesday night. This time in retirement. Shes Pukka N dominates the Select Fillies and Mares at Dover Downs on Wednesday night. Tony Morgan left alertly off the harness racing gate with Shes Pukka N and took no prisoners as he parked VH Princess Brea for half a mile. Shes Pukka N set fractions of 27 54.4 123:3 and a winning time of 1:52 flat. Nearing the three quarter pole, Anytime N and Rockn Philly circled three wide as VH Princess Brea tired.  But their attempts were in vain.. Shes Pukka N remained stubborn in the stretch and won convincingly, by two and a quarter lengths in 1:52 flat.  She was sent off at odds of 7/2. Shes Pukka N ( Betterthancheddar) is owned by Peter Paul Venturini. Brian Malone trained and Tony Morgan drove. Edge Of Eternity sat the pocket and finished 2nd.  Chuck Crissman Jr. trained and Art Stafford Jr drove. Three year old Feeling Sweet, finished 3rd for trainer Joseph Columbo.  Mike Cole was in the bike. JL Cruze earns a harness racing victory in the Open Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night.   JL Cruze was driven aggressively by Dexter Dunn as they left then retook the lead at the quarter pole. Jl Cruze set fractions of 27 56 1:24.3 and a winning time of 1:52.3.   Pat Matters and Andrew Mc Carthy were able to grab cover from Jack Vernon nearing the three quarter pole and mounted a steady challenge.     In the stretch, JL Cruze and Dexter Dunn were able to hold a pocket sitting Scirocco Rob, to win by a neck as the 3/5 race favorite.   Jl Cruze trotted a last half in 56.3 and a last quarter in 28 seconds flat in victory.   Jl Cruze ( Crazed) is owned by Wood, Dittmar Jr. and Laquinta.    For JL Cruze,  it was his 41st lifetime victory and lifetime earnings exceeding 1.5 million dollars.   Jl Cruze (Crazed)  is trained by Eric Ell and was driven by Dexter Dunn.   Pocket sitting Scirocco Rob was second for trainer Mark Silva and driver Tim Tetrick.   Jack Vernon finished third for trainer Mark Silva and driver Tim Tetrick.   JL Cruze   Pat Berry won four races on the card.   Post Time for Dover Downs is 4:30 pm   Alex Kraszewski  

Let It Ride N impressive, in taking the harness racing Preferred Pace at Dover Downs on Thursday night. Highalator left alertly from the gate and was allowed to cut the mile. The fractions were 26.4 54.4 1:21.4. The one to five race favorite,  Let It Ride N settled in the fifth position at the quarter pole.   At the half, driver Dexter Dunn revved up Let It Ride N. They swiftly met the pace setter Highalator at the three quarter pole.  They paced the quarter in 27 seconds flat.  At the top of the lane, Let It Ride N went into another gear and won, under wraps in 1:49 amid freezing temperatures. Let It Ride N ( Rock and Roll Heaven) is owned by Enzed Racing Stable Inc. and is trained  by Nifty Norman.  Dexter Dunn drove.   After the race a beaming Nifty Norman stated “ He’s a smart animal who doesn’t hurt himself, Dexter never asked him tonight”  “ He can race on any size track”  Let It Ride N paced a last half in 53 seconds and a last quarter in 27.1 Highalator finished 2nd for trainer Jenny Bier and driver Rick Still. Soho Burning Love A overcame a Nor'easter and won back to back in the harness racing Mares Open Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday night. It was a highly contested opening quarter as three mares fought for the early lead over the sloppy surface. Shes Pukka N, Sunny Dee and Machnhope all left in a line and passed the quarter in 27 seconds flat. Machnhope cleared the lead but not before reaching the half in a blistering 54 seconds flat.  Soho Burning Love A and Tim Tetrick moved off the rail from sixth. They spotted the leader eight lengths as Tetrick mounted his charge coverless and 1st over. Machnhope continued to lead to the three quarters in 1:22.4.   Tetrick and Soho Burning Love A, surged past a tiring Machnhope in the stretch and won convincingly by two and a half lengths. The time of the mile was 1:50.1.  Soho Burning Love A (Auckland Reactor N) was sent off as the 6/5 race favorite. Soho Burning Love A is owned by Richard Poillucci and Jo Ann Looney-King.  Jim King Jr. is the trainer and Tim Tetrick, the driver. Machnhope finished second for trainer Noel Daley and driver Andrew McCarthy. Sunny Dee finished third for trainer Michael Hall and driver Dexter Dunn. Soho Burning Love A Tomorrow, Dover Downs will host a quartet of $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Finals.  Also on the card is a $24,000 Preferred pace. Jack Vernon scores back to back harness racing victories in the Select trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night. Jack Vernon and Whimzical Chapter left alertly at the start of the race.  Jack Vernon was parked to the quarter before eventually, clearing for the lead.   Jack Vernon, the four to five race favorite, set fractions of 27.3 56.2.   Northern Express, angled off the rail from 3rd and trotted 1st up past the half.  The three quarters were reached in 1:24.3. A 28.1 third quarter.   Jack Vernon, at the top of the stretch, inched away from a frustrated Northern Express and won by three quarters of a length in 1:52.3. It was a lifetime mark for the Muscle Hill sired, seven year old. Jack Vernon is owned by Howard Taylor and Michael Casalino Jr. Dylan Davis trained and Corey Callahan was the driver. Northern Express finished a gallant second and was driven by Russell Foster.  His father Arty Foster Jr. is the trainer. Magic MVP picked up the show spot for trainer Traci Berry.  Pat Berry drove. On Thursday night there will be four $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Fund race finals. Soho Burning Love A cruises to harness racing victory in the Fillies and Mares Open pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday night.   Driver Tim Tetrick changed driving tactics from last week, instead of leaving off the gate he decided to race from off the pace. Tetrick, as usual, made the right choice.   Stonebridge Soul left alertly as the other competitors took back off the gate. The field remained in single file until the half. Stonebridge Soul was allowed to cut fractions of 26.2 and 55.3 for the half. Machnhope pulled first over past the half and the field was double tiered. Soho Burning Love A drafted perfectly second over behind Machnhope. Stonebridge Soul led the field to the three quarters in 1:23.1 pacing the third quarter in 27.3.   At the top of the stretch Soho Burning Love A left her cover and attacked three wide into the stretch. Soho Burning Love A surged to win by one and a quarter lengths in 1:50.3 as the three to five race favorite. Late Mail N delivers a victory in the feature race at Dover Downs on Thursday night Late Mail N left alertly along with Calvin K at the start of the race.   Tim Tetrick landed in the pocket as Calvin K. cut fractions of 27.2  56 1:23.2.  Robbie Burns N and driver Pat Berry mounted a first over charge.   Slick Tony, the four to five race favorite, shadowed second over but was forced three wide when Robbie Burns N started to tire. In the stretch, Tim Tetrick eased Late Mail N to the outside from the pocket, and confidently won by a half length in 1:51.  Late Mail N ( Bettor’s Delight ) is owned by David Hamm and paid $10 to win.  Chuck Crissman Jr. trained and Tim Tetrick drove. Tetrick picked up his fifth win on the night.   Sweet Sun Daze was second for trainer Arty Foster Jr.  Arty’s son Russell Foster was the driver. Slick Tony tired in the stretch, and finished third for trainer George Leager.  Montrell Teague was the driver. Montrell Teague had four wins on the card. Jack Vernon rallies and wins the conditioned harness racing trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night. Jack Vernon and Corey Callahan left alertly and were able to sit behind pacesetter Northern Express, who set fractions of 28  57.3 1:25.4.  Whimsical Chapter trotted first up and coverless,  pressuring the leader Northern Express through a 28.1 third quarter. Corey Callahan and Jack Vernon, surged along the rail to win by a nose in 1:54.1 at odds of 7/2.  Jack Vernon ( Muscle Hill ) is owned by Howard Taylor and Mike Casalino Jr.  Dylan Davis trained.  Corey Callahan drove a perfect race in victory. Northern Express, who set a track record, two starts ago at Dover Downs and had his four race win streak end, finished second for trainer Arty Foster Jr.  Russell Foster drove.
