Fear The Dragon received all but three first-place votes in this week’s harness racing Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. The 3-year-old male pacer won last Saturday’s Delvin Miller Adios and has won nine of 10 races this season. Adios runner-up Huntsville remained No. 2 in the rankings. Freehold, NJ --- It will be No.1 vs. No.2 in Saturday’s harness racing Delvin Miller Adios at The Meadows. Fear The Dragon and Huntsville were the only horses in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll Top 10 in action last week and each won his Adios elimination to set up Saturday’s showdown in western Pennsylvania. Freehold, NJ --- Meadowlands Pace winner Huntsville moved to No. 2 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll while harness racing stakes-winners Walner and Agent Q joined the Top 10. Huntsville rose from fourth in last week’s rankings to sit behind idle No. 1 Fear The Dragon. Freehold, NJ --- Returning Dan Patch Award winners Ariana G and Huntsville made upward moves in this week’s harness racing Hambletonian Society / Breeders Crown poll thanks to impressive wins over the weekend. Ariana G won the New Jersey Sire Stakes championship for 3-year-old female trotters by 3-1/4 lengths in a stakes-record 1:51.1 and rose from ninth to third in the rankings. Huntsville won a division of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes series for 3-year-old male pacers by 7-1/4 lengths in 1:49 and moved from unranked to No. 7 in the poll. Fear The Dragon also gained in the rankings, jumping from 10th to fifth following his 1:49.1 triumph in a division of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for 3-year-old male pacers. Three-year-old male pacer Downbytheseaside, who was idle, remained No. 1 in the poll. Lady Shadow, a 6-year-old pacing mare, also was idle and remained second. Art Rooney Pace winner Downbytheseaside is the No. 1-ranked harness racing horse in the first Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll of the year. The 3-year-old male pacer, who is 3-for-3 this season, received 21 of 35 first-place votes and was the poll’s leader by 60 points over second-place Lady Shadow. Lady Shadow, a 6-year-old female pacer, won the Betsy Ross Mares Invitational last weekend for her second win in two starts this year. She received seven first-place votes. New Zealand-bred Molson Pace winner Bit Of A Legend was third in the poll, followed by Maxie Lee Memorial Invitational champ Crazy Wow and the season’s leading money-earner Somewhere In LA. Always B Miki received 27 first-place votes in the final poll and was second on the remaining eight ballots. Freehold, NJ --- Five-year-old pacing stallion Always B Miki finished his harness racing career in style with a 4-1/4 length win in the TVG Free For All Series championship for male pacers Saturday at the Meadowlands and extended his lead over idle Wiggle It Jiggleit for the top spot in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. No. 1 Always B Miki holds a 48-point advantage over No. 2 Wiggle It Jiggleit, an increase of 14 points from a week ago. Other TVG Series winners included No. 3-ranked Hannelore Hanover, who won among older female trotters, and No. 6 Lady Shadow, who moved up four places in the rankings off her triumph in the pacing mare division. Next week will be the final Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll of the year. The poll does not determine Horse of the Year. Freehold, NJ --- Five-year-old male pacer Always B Miki ended Wiggle It Jiggleit’s 12-week hold on the No.1 harness racing spot in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll thanks to his three-quarter length victory over his rival in last weekend’s Breeders Crown Open Pace. Always B Miki previously led the poll for weeks seven through 12. Wiggle It Jiggleit dropped to No. 2. Hannelore Hanover moved from sixth to third in the rankings after her victory in the Breeders Crown Mare Trot. Also getting a boost from Breeders Crown triumphs were 2-year-old filly trot champion Ariana G, 3-year-old male pace winner Racing Hill, and 2-year-old male trot victor Walner, who joined the Top 10 at No. 9. Freehold, NJ --- Yonkers International Trot winner Resolve made the biggest move in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. The harness racing 5-year-old stallion moved from eighth to fifth in the rankings thanks to his victory in last weekend’s $1 million invitational. Wiggle It Jiggleit solidified his hold on the No. 1 spot with his win in last weekend’s Yonkers Invitational Pace. The 4-year-old gelding upped his lead to 27 points over No. 2 Always B Miki, an increase of 14 points compared to the previous rankings. Always B Miki was idle. The only other horse in the Top 10 that was in action last week was 3-year-old male pacer Betting Line, who moved from No. 5 to No. 4 in the ratings following his Ontario Sire Stakes championship triumph. Freehold, NJ ---Harness racing super stars Always B Miki and Marion Marauder each moved up two spots in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. Always B Miki, who paced the fastest mile in harness racing history with a 1:46 triumph in Sunday's Allerage Farms Open Pace at Red Mile moved from fourth place to second, while Marion Marauder, who won the Kentucky Futurity at Red Mile and became the ninth horse to capture the Trotting Triple Crown, moved from fifth place to third. Wiggle It Jiggleit continues to lead the poll with 316 points, 13 points better than Always B Miki and 49 points ahead of Marion Marauder.
