The Mildura District took the honours at the Nyah harness racing fixture on Tuesday, with four winners during the evening.

Two heats of the BOTRA Queensland Young Drivers Championship will be staged this Saturday night at Albion Park. Queensland's premier Junior Driver-Teenage whiz kid Peter McMullen has a strong hand in both harness racing heats and will be competing against the likes of other regular Saturday night winners Todd McCarthy and Brad Cowen. The prior heats are part of the meetings at Redcliffe on Wednesday and the Gold Coast on Friday of this week.

The Alabar New South Wales Breeders Challenge harness racing heats for 2-year-olds rolled into Wagga last night (Thursday May 19). The fillies division was taken out by Hirising, she is a daughter of Western Ideal stallion Dawn Ofa New Day, who stands at Empire Stallions in Victoria. Hirising is out of Julicious, a D M Dilinger daughter of Honeysweet.

The Terang harness racing fixture on Tuesday March 8 looked in grave danger of not going on, when torrential rain commenced falling an hour or so before the first race. Stewards in their wisdom decided to put the first event back a race to monitor the situation and once the rain eased, a further track inspection was taken resulting in the meeting going ahead.
