Flyhawk Falina, a two-year-old filly by Cash Hall, out of the El Paso Kash mare Nowerland Nanette, won her $37,862 division of the New York Sire Stakes in 2:03 here at Buffalo Raceway Wednesday night (July 3).

The New York Sire Stakes season got underway at Batavia Downs Casino on Friday night (July 31), in front of a large harness racing crowd thanks to perfect weather in Western New York and a baseball cap giveaway, co-sponsored by the Harness Horse Breeders of New York.

Winbak Dimensions and Jimmy Marohn Jr. scored in the featured $15,000 Open Handicap pace on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs. The mile of 1:52 lowered the seasonal mark for the 5-year old son of Village Jove, in the third victory of the season. Jim Perry trains Winbak Dimensions for William J. Heinz and Jack M. Heinz both of Ohio.
