April 21, 2019 - Derby du Dollar (8m Rodrigo Jet-Magalia du Dollar) won today’s second leg of the harness racing Trophee Vert Series, this held as the Prix des la Ville d’Ecommoy (purse 45,000€, 2750 meters distance handicap, 18starters) at the Hippodrome Ecommoy. The winner was off as the 2.8/1 favorite and Matthieu Abrivard was the winning pilot for trainer Sylvain Roger, as Derby raised his career earnings to 181,770€ in 31 starts. 9/1 Bachar (8m Prodigious) was second for trainer/trainer Emmanuel Allard after facing a 25 meter handicap, as did third finishing 26/1 Valseme (10g Bijou du Bignon) for Th. Domigny. Vro Leon was fourth ahead of 50 meter handicapped Blues des Landiers. The co-favorite Ceylan Dairpet was eighth. Race time was a quick 1.16kr on the grass. April 20, 2019 - The capable harness racing veteran Ubu Kiraly (6m Vioxx SR-Helikan-Awesome Goal), off at 6.9/1, took today’s Kincsem Park featured Soldo DIJ (600,000Huf purse, 1900 meters autostart) with Lajos Marton the pilot. He was clocked in 1.16.3kr and closed out the verdict with a powerful stretch charge for his first 2019 win in this his second appearance. Even-money favorite Uran Lady (6f Maximus Lindy-Vas Lady-Endless Sands) set the pace and gamely held second ahead of 11/1 Urzulina (6f Maximus Lindy-Cicciolina Fling-Supergill) with Csaba Lakatos at the lines, Thomas H. April 20, 2019 - The day’s initial groupe test at Enghien-Soisy was the harness racing Quite+ Gr. II Prix Casino Barriere (purse 100,000€, 2875 meters, 13 starters, all four year old mares). The 9/10 favorite Freja du Pont (4f Quinoa du Gers-Parade du Pont) scored for trainer/driver Jean-Michel Bazire, her ninth career victory in 15 outings. Race time was 1.16kr off slow fractions. This began a great day for Bazire and increased this winner’s career earnings to 199,650€ for owner Albert Rayon. Celine Bazire bred Freyja du Pont. 11/1 Fanina des Racques (4f Ready Cash) was second with Eric Raffin teaming for owner/trainer Alexandre Buisson. 11/1 Fend la Bise (4f Prince Gede) was third with trainer Franck Anne driving. 15/1 Ferreteria and 107/1 Flore de Janeiro were next to the line. Starting from post 12, the 2.1/1 second wagering choice Looking Superb (6m Orlando Vici-Classical Pine) was just that for pilot and trainer Jean Michel Bazire. The Norwegian invader, owned by Kolbjoern O. Selmer, now has three wins in 10 starts in France and increased his life earnings to 500,082€. Race time was 1.10.6kr off honest fractions (1.12.1kr at 1000 meters to go; 1.10.9kr at the 500) set by 2/1 favorite pacesetter Dijon that ended sixth for Romain Derieux. Bazire was away mid-pack with Looking Superb before a three wide surge to the leaders. Bjorn Goop teamed this Sebastien Guarato trainee for Scuderia Bivans Srl, as he recorded career win 13 in 15 starts, now for 577,150€ earned. Race time was 1.13.5kr, impressive because the pace was slow and Face Time came from sixth on the outer at the halfway point (fractions 1.16.2kr at the 1500 to go mark; 1.14.6kr at the 1000 and 1.14.3kr with 500 meters remaining). 4.9/1 odds Falcao de Laurma (4m Uniclove) was second for pilot Franck Nivard and third was 43/1 Fric du Chene (4m Nobody du Chene) for Francois Lagadeuc. Face Time Bourbon The Prix de l’Argone (purse 63,000€, 2150 meters autostart, 15 European starters) completed the fast-class action today and it went to 4.3/1 Alcoy (5m Ready Cash-Divann) for Christophe Martens, trainer Vincent Martens and owner Ceke Farm BVBA. Off at 4.3/1 odds, the winner scored in 1.12.6kr to increase his career earnings to 208,732€. April 19, 2019 - Friday night harness racing action at Paris-Vincennes featured the Prix Aletheia (purse 64,000€, 2850 meters distance handicap). The 25 meter handicapped and 1.1/1 odds favorite Chica de Joudes (7f Jag de Bellouet-Queschia Love) proved the point with a decisive 1.13.5kr timed score. Alain Laurent owns, trains and drove the winner that now has 12 career wins good for 452,720€ earned. She defeated 4.8/1 Defino (6m Speedy Blue-Miss Volo) reined by Mathieu Mottier for breeder/owner/trainer Dominique Mottier. Third was another 25 meter penalized starter, 10/1 outsider Drole de Jet (6m Coktail Jet-Likely Jet) piloted by trainer Pierre Vercruysse. Detroit Castelets finished fourth. This race was the Quinte_+ race of the day and 2,765 winning ticket holders of exact order top five tickets collected 448.60€ for a 2€ wager. The now six time career winner has increased earnings of 122,860€. 32/1 Diavolo Criscani (6m Nahar de Beval) was second for Christopher Corbineau and third went to 25/1 Dear Money (6g The Best Madrik) handled by trainer Dominik Locqueneux for Ecurie des Charmes. April 19, 2019 - Tomorrow’s Enghien-Soisy harness racing headliner is the Gr. I International UET Master Series’ Prix de l’Atlantique to be raced over 2150 meters autostart. Now, 11 horses will be at the start. Presumed favorite Bold Eagle has been scratched. The Jean-Michel Bazire trainee Looking Superb (starting from second tier post 11 based on career earnings) along with the top performing Dijon with trainer Romain Derieux the pilot from post six (now in one slot) are likely to be in the hunt.  Comments from the connections of Bold Eagle follow: “The announcement was made on Friday night on Equidia: Bold Eagle will not participate in the Prix de l'atlantic Casino Barrière Enghien-les-Bains, his last blood test having revealed a white blood cell count too high. Thomas Bernereau, co-owner of the winner of two Grand Prix of America, said on Equidia:  "the horse was very well at work but by acquired conscience, so as not to repeat the scheme of Cagnes, we realized this blood sample that revealed this rate very high. The vet is thinking of a viral episode. We prefer to abstain and then we will see if we go on the Prix of the Dukes of Normandy or the Prix René Ballière. In fact, we decided to put this protocol of blood before any potential race.” The Enghien card remains sensational with other races including Face Time Bourbon, Fleche Bourbon, Ferreteria and Orlando Jet among a host of top tier trotteurs. April 19, 2019 - The 1.37/1 harness racing favorite Perfect Spirit (5m Andover Hall-Good Common Cents-Kadabra) took today’s 250,000SEK first money Prins Carl Philips Prize at Farjestad, raced over 1640 meters autostart. Race time was 1.10.1kr. Orjan Kihlstrom reined the former Hambletonian winner that is owned by SRF Stable and trained by Daniel Reden. Perfect Spirit now has 17 career wins in 31 starts for 9,787,579SEK earned.  Hanover Shoe Farms bred the winner that defeated 13/1 Heart Of Steel (5g Cantab Hall-Angel Heikant-Open The Sky) teamed by trainer Peter Untersteiner. 7.7/1 Eldorado B (5m Maharajah-Alexia Hammering-Smasher) was third with Torbjorn Jansson the pilot. Yesterday in Sweden, at Gavle, there were two interesting winner. The 3/2 favorite Acciaio (3m Love You-Light My Candle-Garland Lobell) won a 2140 meter autostart event (first prize 100,000SEK) with Alessandro Gocciador up, the trainer for owner Scuderia Pink and Black. Race time was 1.13.kr for this three time winner in 10 career starts. Also on the Gavle card was a 2140 meters autostart event for mares (150,000SEK first prize) that went to 4.6/1 Vivacious Allie (4f Muscle Hill-KD Girl-Self Possessed). The 4/5 odds favorite Carly (7g Rolling d’Heripre-Thea de Jelma) easily took the featured Prix Cornelia (Gr. Sunday’s trotting action at Torino (Italy) included the Premio Campili (two eliminations for purses of 11,000€ each, 1600 meters autostart) and a final for €13,200 purse and raced over the same distance.   The batteria (elimination) winners were Ua Huka (6f Muscles Yankee-Fancy Bi-Toss Out) timed in 1.12.6kr with harness racing driver Rene Lagati up. She defeated Unno del Duomo and Venanzo Jet.   The second batteria saw Varieta’ Luis (5m Ideale Luis-Griff Baby-Sugarcane Hanover) win timed in 1.11.6kr. Alessandro Gocciadoro teamed the better that defeated Specialess and Ticket To Ride.   The finale was a match race and Varieta’ Luis went offstride early and Ua Huka zoomed to victory timed in 1.14.1kr for Rene Lagati.   On the card was also the Premio Mario Riccio Memorial (purse 13,200€, 1600 meters autostart).   The 1.11.9kr timed winner was Pantera del Pino (10f Turbo Sund-Desire’ del Pino-Sugarcane Hanover) reined by Rene Legati and she has career earnings of 223,342€.   Urlo dei Venti (6m Mago d’Amore-Armbro Wealthy-Malabar Man) was second and Vernissage Grif (5m Varenne-Dalia Grif-Park Avenue Joe) was third. Saturday at Paris-Vincennes showcased several groupe events beginning with the Prix Jean Riaud (Gr. III, purse 90,000€. 13 starters, a Quinte+ race of the day), named after the trainer/driver of the great Jamin.   In this one, trainer J-M Bazire send out a talented team of three from his training stable and all were in the top five finishers. 9/1 Ble du Gers (8g Quinoa du Gers-Moorea) was the 1.12.5kr timed winner with Alexandre Abrivard the reinsman for trainer Bazire and owner J-M Rancoule.   He won for the 19 th time in 55 career starts now for life earnings of 78,360€. Bazire’s favorite, the 2.3/1 Cleangame (7gOuragon de Celland-Red Bell), took second with J-M Bazire up for owner Rancoule.   Third was 19/1Anzi des Liards (9g Look de Star) handled by Romain Derieux. 29/1 Tony Gio (7m Varenne) and 17/1 Bel Avis (8g Ganymede) completed the top five, the latter a Bazire trainee and reined by Nicolas Bazire.   19/1 Traders and 41/1 Delia du Pommereux earned the last two checks. The famous Seinajoki harness race took place today in Finland, raced over 2100 meters autostart, seven starters) and 11.3/1 Atupem (6, Andover Hall-Rudy Rose) scored timed in 1.11.8kr with a strong late rally from the back, engineered by pilot Santtu Raitala. First prize was 70,000€ to the Finland-bred winner. Pastor Bob was a close second with Johan Untersteiner up. Chief Orlando held third for driver Antti Teivainen. Trendy OK was a game fourth after racing first over for Alessandro Gocciadoro and On Track Piraten was fifth with Hans R. Stromberg driving. Dreammoko was sixth for Win Paal. The race time was anew race record, lowering the 1.12.1kr mark set in 2016 by El Mago Pellini then handled by Adrian Kolgjini. Earlier in the day at Umaker (SWE), the UM Fastfigheter V75 Gold went to 1.3/1 Propulsion (8m Muscle Hill-Danae-Andover Hall) reined by Orjan Kihlstrom to the 1.11.3kr timed victory. Friday’s harness racing action at Milan Italy featured the Grand Premio Nazionale Prep (purse 13,200€, 2250 meters autostart) and Axl Rose (3m Love You-Linda di Casei-Uronometro) impressed with a 1.13kr seven-length victory with trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro driving.   The career winner of 170,714€ defeated Adelante (3m Ready Cash-Iniziale) reined by Marco Smorgon and third finishing Ares Caf (3m Ideale Luis-Ira Caf) with Andrea Guzzinati the pilot. The in the Premio Lana del Rio (purse 13,200€, 1650 meters autostart) the winner was Vitruvio (5m Adrian Chip-Tigre OM-Zebu) clocked in 1.11.3kr. He was a five length winner after rallying from fifth with a three-wide move into the final turn. Trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro reined the winner of 697,196€. Today’s featured harness racing trot at Kincsem Park was the classic Pulay Kornel Memorial (purse 1,500,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart) and the rallying Underpaid Hanover (10m Revenue-Up Front Lisa-Lindy Lane) got up on the line to win timed in 1.15.2kr.   He was off at 73.8/1 in this his first 2019 start.   Driver Csaba Lakatos steered the winner, for trainer Jozsef Rutkai and owner Prolongo, that raised his career earnings to 67,979,392Huf.   The veteran Milliondollar Lux (13m Ganymede-Dadaumpa Jet-Supergill) was a game second for Emese Vezer and trainer Emil Csordas, off at 147.2/1 odds. The 19.4/1 Victory Knick (7g Cantab Hall-Lapponic Knick-Lindy’s Crown) was third, this one also trained by Csordas and reined by Ferenc Nagy II. 17/1 Pierra du Bar and 3.2/1 Iago d’Amore earned the next two checks while even- money favorite Aileron finished eighth. The 88,000€ purse Premio Citta di Torino was raced Sunday at Torino Italy over 2060 meters by a good harness racing field of four year olds.   Victory went to 1.12.5kr timed Zacon Gio (4m Ruty Grif-May Glide Font SM) trained by Holger Ehlert and reined by Roberto Vecchione.   He rallied on the backside on the final lap to defeat Zlatan (4m Napoleon Bar-Nastassia Bi) with G.P.Minnucci aboard.
