Drole de Jet (7m Coktail Jet-Likely Jet) easily took today’s Gr. II International Prix de Communaute du Centre Thierache (Series Grande Vitesse, purse 75,000€, 1609 meters autostart, 13 starters) with a front end score timed in 1.09.6kr (mile 1:52.04) at La Capelle, France.  Off as the 1.2/1 favorite and with trainer Pierre Vercruysse aboard, the Ecurie Hunter Valley trotter won for the 10th time in 35 career starts now for 532,275€ earned. He was a good second recently to Face Time Bourbon and the Jean Etienne Dubois bred stallion looks to be back to his form of several years ago, or even better.  The 8.2/1 Billie de Montfort (9f Jasmin de Flore-Quismy de Montfort) was second for Gabriele Gelormini and trainer Sebastien Guarato. 3/1 odds Bold Eagle (9m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet) was third for Tony Le Beller and trainer Guarato. Bold Eagle left alertly and raced second over until the lane. He was also bred by Jean Etienne Dubois. 20/1 Anzi des Liards (10g Look de Star) raced first over and was fourth for trainer/driver Romain Derieux and 14/1 Violetto Jet (6m From Above) was fifth with Franck Nivard up. June 10, 2020 - Chalimar de Guez (8g Nahar de Beval-Phebe de Guez) took the June 9th harness racing Gr. III Prix Jean Paul Fairand (monte, purse 70,000€, 2000 meters voltstart, apprentice lad jockeys) at La Capelle (Vincennes transferred) timed in 1.12.2kr. Maxime Grumetz handled this Jean Michel Bazire trainee that is owned by Ecurie Vautors. The winner, off at 4.4/1 odds, now has eight career victories for 317,340€ earned. Clara du Pomtseuil (8f Mich Phili) was second with Florent Guerineau in the irons. Third went to Brainstorm (9m Pomerol de Laumac) for jockey Gaelle Godard. Chalimar de Guez The prior day was the Prix de Saussay LeTrot Open des Regions Basse-Normandie (purse 23,000€, 2450 meters voltstart, three year olds) at Caen. Here, the 1.7/1 favorite Hede Darling (3m Password-Queen Darling) scored easily timed in 1.16.0kr for owner Jean Pierre Dubois. Kevin Vanderschelden trains this nice colt that earned his third straight win to increase his life earnings to 31,530€. He raced much of the way parked first over. The 53/1 outsider Help Me Win (3f Otello Pierji-Bronza) was next for owner/trainer Sebastien Houyuet). Third went to 2.7/1 Hove Point Vautier (3m Uniclove-Voix Pont Vautier) with Franck Nivard up for Philippe Billard. Hede Darling Several interesting races are ahead. On June 12 at Mauquenchy is the Prix Coronis (purse 44,000€, 2850 meters, three-year olds). On June 13 action moves to Laval (transferred from Enghien) and that program includes the Prix de New York (purse 67,000€, 2050 meters autostart) and the Prix d’Hermonville (purse 44,000€, 2875 meters). Watch for the Oslo Grand Prix that will occur Sunday June 14. It should be a competitive event albeit it is void of trotting superstars. Elian Web and Vitruvio (the 2019 winner) should be among the leaders. This race has a rich history and has been won by great horses in recent years. It is raced at Bjerke for a purse to the winner of 350,000 Norwegian krone and the ten entrants will race over 2100 meters autostart. Below is the list of Oslo GP winners since 1983. July 7, 2019 - Valko Jenilat (10m Kepler-Perle du Roc) took today’s 2nd leg of the harness racing Challenge du Trot Grand Vitesse (the Gr. II Prix de la Communaute de Communes Thierache du Centre) at La Capelle clocked in 1.10.5kr and reined by Paul Philippe Ploquin. Sebastien Guarato trains the veteran campaigner for owner Guy Chaumont. Valko now has 22 career wins in 102 starts for 1,258,415€ in  life earnings. He was off at 54/1 odds and rallied late to defeat 6/10 favorite Aubrion du Gers (9g Memphis du Rib) with owner/trainer Jean Michel Bazire aboard. Aubrion was parked from the start in a death match with Bold Eagle. 18/1 Billie de Montfort (8f Jasmin de Flore) rallied from the pocket for third driven by Gabriele Gelormini for trainer Guarato, just missing second. Today’s 5 th leg of the Gr. III Grand National du Trot Paris-Turf (purse 85,000€, 2750 meters distance handicap, 18 starters) was held at La Capelle. The 1.12.6kr timed victory went to 13/1 Bachar (8m Prodigious-Princesse Victoire) with trainer Emmanuel Allard at the lines. Bachar won for the seventh time in 70 career starts now for 314,640€ earned. 15/1 Christo (7g Rieussec) was second for trainer/driver Michel Lenoir and the 25-meter handicapped 5/10 favorite Chica de Joudes (7f Jag de Bellouet) was third for owner/trainer/driver Alain Laurent. 123/1 Baron du Bourg and 93/1 Bad Boy du Dollar, also 25 meter handicapped, completed the top five finishers. This race was the Quinte+ race of the day and the exact order 2€ Q+ ticket paid 185,481.80€. July 9, 2017 - Veteran classmaster Up And Quick (9m Buvetier d’Aunou-Fichtre) survived a speed duel early before taking the lead after 400 meters for driver Franck Nivard, and the race was over. This Prix de la Communaute de Comaunes (Gr. II, 1609 meters autostart, purse €100,000) was a rare on-mile dash for speed and Up And Quick did not disappoint with his 1.10.2kr victory, the mile rate 1:52.89. Franck Leblanc trains the winner for Ecurie Quick Star and the victory today took the winners’ career earnings to €2,042,040 with 15 wins including a Prix d’Amerique. Billie de Montfort (6f Jasmin de Flore-Quismy de Montfort), at 3.8/1, rallied nicely to be second for driver David Thomain, trainer Sebastien Guraato and owner/breeder Philippe Dauphin, and the aforementioned early leader, 20/1 Breidabliks Nubbe (5m Lindy Lane-Wildgirl Boshoeve) held third for driver Marc Elias and trainer Conrad Lugauer. May 7, 2017 - At La Capelle on Sunday was the Prix Carrefour (purse €30,000, 2700 meters, 13 starters) and the 1.15.8kr clocked winner was 12/1 Pantarei Ans (8m Classic Photo-Demetra Ans) with P-Y Verva aboard for harness racing trainer Bjorn Goop and Ecurie Chikh. 2.1/1 Diamond (7g Classic Photo-Gala dei Bessi) was second driven by Robin Bakker and trainer by Paul Hagoort for Ecurie Mille Fleurs. Third was another Goop trainee, 1.3/1 I Love Paris (7f Steinlager-Maris Dulcinea) that Morton Gunnar owns and Pierre Vercruysse was the pilot. Trophee Vert action also continued Sunday at Bernais with the Prix du Centre le Clerc Menneval (purse €45,000, 2800 meters, 18 starters on the turf). The 3/2 favorite Tresor Wic finished eighth for Anthony Barrier, opening the way for 7.5/1 Bingo d’Attaque (6m Pomerol de Laumac-Lady de la Roche) to score for Gabriel Gelormini timed in 1.20.1kr before a good crowd. 13/1 All Feeling (7m Otello Pierji-Quelle Cerencaise) was second and 14/1 Viola Ecus (8g Korean-Iffrida) took the third spot. April 6, 2017 - Today’s interesting harness racing action was at Mons Ghlin (BE) and LaCapelle (FR). The former included the Prix de Paques Balgique (purse €7200, 2850 meters, nine international contestants). The 1.14.5kr timed winner was veteran  1:2 odds favorite Truman Dairpet (10g Biesolo-Heloise Poterie) reined by Piet Van Poll for Union Stable. This campaigner recorded his 22nd victory in 96 career starts for €589,000 earned. 4.3/1 Duke Of Greenwood (7m Otello Pierji-Nikki Groenhof) held second for trainer Peter J. Strooper and reinsman Hugo W. Langeweg. 30/1 Bi Vivant (12g Armbro Kaiser-Elady) was third. The Prix Journal Eurotierce (purse €5,400, 1750 meters autostart, 11 international starters) went to  quick-stepping, 1.12.2kr timed,  favorite 9/10 odds, Touch Of Wind Bi (5f Varenne-Catch The Wind) reined by Rik Ebbinge.  J.W.M. Harness racing two year-olds were on display Monday at La Capelle in the Prix Claude Mathieu (2000 meters, eight starters, purse €15,000), and the 0.5/1 odds Electro Cadence (2m Kaisy Dream-Potuna Saint Andre) was an impressive open-lengths winner in 1.19kr for Emmanuel Allard and Ecurie Cadence 3. 3.7/1 Egerie de Courtis (2f Lets Go Along-Quessy de Courtis) rallied for second ahead of 12/1 Emeraude d’Idef (2f Opium-Rincette) that Ulf Nordin trains. Same day, same program was the Pick 5 Prix Raymond Chotte (purse €30,000, 2700 meters autostart, 16 European entrants) and this victory was earned by Beverly Boulevard (7f Quite East-Long Beach) with Yann Lorin driving for Fabrice Souloy, trainer for Camilla Vikstrom. May 25 at La Capelle showcased harness racing's prestigious Quinte+ Grand National du Trot Paris-Turf (Gr. III, purse €90,000, 2750 meters, 16 starters with distance handicaps). The impressive rallying winner, timed in 1.12.5kr, was 2.3/1 Aubrion du Gers (6g Memphis du Rib-J’auvive de Gers) with owner/trainer J-M Bazire teaming. The winner recorded victory 14 in 37 starts good for career earnings of €470,460. 2/1 odds Baltic Charm (5m Password-Ilikova) was second for Eric Raffin and trainer Sebastien Guarato with third going to 6/1 Amiral du Bisson (6g Jeanbat du Vivier-Melodie du Bisson) handled by Anthony Barrier for Jean Morice. 13/1 Ulula Bella and 55/1 Vignia la Ravelle took spots four and five. This Pick5 event went to the P-Y Verva teamed, 5./1 odds Veneon (7m Laetenter Diem-Morsalines) timed in 1.16.kr as this pair defeated 3.1/1 Vez des Voirons (7g Fortuna Fant-Nava des Voirons) with owner/trainer Alain Laurent aboard. 30/1 Ultarmo Vinght rallied for third. On the La Capelle card lightly campaigned three year-olds contested the €20,000 Prix La Royale-Compiegne over 2750 meters. 2.1/1 Diana Jiel (3f Flash de Jiel-Namoura) recorded the 1.21.5kr victory for Franck Ouvrie, trainer KJ/L. Dersoir and Ecurie Luck. The impressive 1.12.1kr timed winner was Radiofreccia FI (6f Ganymede-Castilia-Lemon Dra) for Enrico Bellei and trainer Erik Bondo. Second dam of the winner is Panthera As (Prakas-Noble Irene). Pietro Gubellini piloted Please Kronos (7f Varenne=Speaks Volume-Striking Sahbra) home a good second, a length off the winner, and Peace Of Mind (7f Uronometro-Erica d’Alfa-Sugarcane Hanover) was third in a photo for second, driven by Alessandro Gocciadoro. Energies (€30,000 purse, 2750 meters, 12 starters) went to 5.4/1 odds Victoria Empress (6f Magnificent Rodney-Pay The Bill) clocked in 1.15.4kr for owner/trainer/driver Ulf Nordin. 3/1 Vizir des Jacquets (6m Prodigious-Quiet Way) was a close second for Romain Derieux, trainer/driver for owner Antonio De Sousa. 8/1 Veneon (6m Laetenter Diem-Morcalines) was third for Joanna Lindqvist. At Enghien-Soisy the Prix Le Zagalolo de Soisy (€68,000 purse, 2875 meters, 12 European entrants) went to the 1.17.5kr winner Tino Roc (3m Flipp Roc-Indy Roc) for Mathieu Abrivard, trainer Thomas Cecere and owner Scuderia Sant Eusehiu (Italy).
