London, May 27, 2019 -- A victory behind pacer Jake Parrish is always special for harness racing driver Nick Steward but was particularly so on Monday night at The Raceway at Western Fair District as it marked the 2000th career trip to the winner's circle for the London reinsman. It was the third win this season and 27th lifetime for the seven-year-old gelded son of Whosurboy who sits with close to $160,000 in career earnings. Fans are reminded that the final card of the season at The Raceway goes this Friday night, featuring the $157,000 Camluck Classic Invitational Pace. Hanover Raceway played host to a special exhibition race of harness racing trotters under saddle Saturday night. Sharleen MacDonald of Paisley, Ontario was the winning rider, competing for the first time with Sixth Man under saddle.

Longtime harness racing trainer Larry Fitzsimmons achieved a significant milestone at his home track, The Raceway at Western Fair District, on Saturday night.

Today marks the first Monday afternoon program of the Fall Meet at The Raceway at Western Fair District and could prove a significant one for long time London, Ontario harness racing trainer Larry Fitzsimmons who comes into today's card just one victory away from 1,000 in his career.

With 125 points earned through her first four Grassroots harness racing starts, Angel On The Wing has already assured herself of a berth in the post season, but trainer Larry Fitzsimmons would love to see the three-year-old pacing filly wrap up the regular season on a high note this Thursday at Hiawatha Horse Park.

In just two and a bit seasons of professional driving Nick Steward has achieved more in harness racing than many reinsman will ever accomplish in a lifetime. But the Steward 'driving machine' is only just starting to kick into gear and with age and a strong will to win on his side this 20-year-old could be anything.
