October 28, 2017 -  Saturday’s €10,000 purse GP de la Martinique Finale (2600 meters voltstart) raced on the turf at Hippodrome Martinique resulted in a 1.22.5kr victory for Vlatou des Salines (8g Magnificent Rodney-Griffe des Salines) reined by Alexandre Faivre for harness racing owner/trainer Jean Luc Langeron. The winner has a 5-3-2 slate in 11 starts this year and a good 1.18.2kr fastest win this year taken on April 2 with Matthieu Abrivard driving. Usly de Visais (9g Defo d’Aunou-Pristina Jet) was second with the aforementioned J.L. Langeron up. He owns and trains this one as well. The useful racehorse now has six wins and two seconds in 10 starts. Titan Pierji (10g Jardy-Kora Pieji) was third for Williams Demurs, the driver for owner/trainer Christophe Morse. Quicky du Drac and Sargent Chef were fourth and fifth. May 21.2017 - Vintou des Salines (8g Magnificent Rodney-Griffe des Salines) overcame a 25 meter handicap for J.L. Langeron, the owner/trainer/driver, to win today’s Prix des Bananiers (purse €5,000, 2800 meters distance handicap, turf course), shown below, at Madinina, Le Diamant, Martinique. Aulady Tartifume (7f Jeanbat du Vivier-Lady de Tartifume) was second for owner/trainer/driver Edmond Langeron while third was earned by Sergent Chef (11g General du Pommereux-Madelon) reined by Williams Desmurs. Winning time was not reported. On the mixed trot/gallop card was also the Prix des Mangurers (purse €5,000, 3800 meters, turf course) with the 1.21.7kr timed victory taken by 25 meter handicapped Usly de Visais (9g Defi d’Aunou-Pristine Jet) reined by owner/trainer J.L. Langeron, The winner recorded his 14th career victory now for €127,210 earned. 50 meter handicapped Titan Pierji (10g Jardy-Pierre Julienne) took second for Lora Duplessis-Keugomard. May 6, 2017 - Candie d’Atout (5f Magnificent Rodney-Licorne d’Atout) at 3.9/1 and ridden by harness racing trainer Matthieu Abrivard overcame rainy conditions at Paris-Vincennes to win the Gr. II Prix Jean Gauvreau (monte, purse €120,000, 2175 meters, 10 starters) timed in 1.12.7kr. 11/1 Chablis d’Herfraie (5m Giant Cat-Osmose d’Herifraie) was second for jockey David Thomain and conditioner J.P. Thomain. Third home was 8/1 Clara du Pontseuil (5f Mich Pierji-Osaka d’Occagnes) for Anthony Barrier. Heavily backed 5/10 favorite Canadian d’Em was a miscue dq. The lineup for the May 28, 2017 Elitloppet Benders is begun to take form with four accepted invites including three from France. Harness racing driver Franck Nivard teamed 6.5/1 Vanille du Dollar (7f Magnificent Rodney-Magalie du Dollar) to victory Wednesday in the second leg of the Gr. III Grand National du Trot Paris Turf, a 3000 meter distance handicap event with 16 starters. The total purse was €90,000. Timed in 1.14.2kr the winner bested three rivals that sought to overcome a 25 meter penalty. 4/5 favorite Viking Blie (7g Prodigious-Idole Blue) was second for trainer/driver Y-A Briand and 30/1 Ursa Major (8f Ganymede-Good Way) landed the third spot ahead of 35/1 Slow du Beauvoisin (10g Jain de Beval-Gina du Beauvoison) and driver Stephane Cingland. 21/1 Urus (8g Kiwi-Troika de Mar) was fifth for Cedrik Terry. The prestigious GNT series visits many rural venues throughout the summer and fall season before a final at Paris-Vincennes at start of the winter meet. The very competitive Prix Perseus (monte, €80,000 purse, 2700 meters) produced an upset winner in 18/1 Surlando de Viette (9g Quadrophenio-Jolmira) for jockey Florian Prioul. In other European trotting news it was reported that Timoko will start on June 27 in the Kymi Grand Prix over 2100 meters autostart. Ustinof du Vivier is slated to start for driver Eric Raffin in the June 14 Oslo Grand Prix at Bjerke, also over the 2100 meter autostart distance. Mosaique Face, Support Justice, B.B.S. This winner was off at 6.3/1 odds while favored Booster Winner finished a fading eighth at 1.3/1. Yohan Lebourgeois rode Bird Parker as the pair drew clear from the field starting at head-stretch. Philippe Allaire trains the winner for owner Elisabeth Allaire. Brutus de Bailly (3m Niky-Ninon de Bailly) was second for Mathieu Mottier at 13/1 with Best of Jets (3m Magnificent Rodney-Plume Jets) and Bilibili (3m Niky-Quetty du Digeon) next across the line.
