Elkton, MD -- Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by the USTA/BetAmerica, is excited to announce the line-up for Thursday morning (Jan. 29) at 10:30 a.m. The show will be highlighted by Joe Zambito, Brian Mazurek, and Ashley Eisenbel. Zambito, the newest USTA Director and Race Secretary at Isle Capri Pompano Park, joins to talk about his new roles and how he has adapted to them. Since arriving at the South Florida track, it has been infiltrated with carryovers, the pair will talk with Zambito about what his methodology is in setting up the races. Mazurek, the track handicapper at Buffalo Raceway joins the program to discuss the opening of the Western New York facility. The season kicks off Wednesday (Jan. 29) and he will discuss he opening program and what bettors can expect going forward in 2020. Eisenbel, from the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association, joins the pair to discuss the recently concluded Pennsylvania Farm Show. Woebkenberg joins the program this week to discuss his promotion of the sport of harness racing through his starting car rides in Southern Ohio. Woebkenberg was a nominee for Innovator of the Year this season. Up and coming Mid-Atlantic trainer Brittany Bounds will join the duo for the first time. Bounds is fresh off a pair of seasonal earnings that eclipsed $100,000 in back to back years. Nominated for the Small Stable of the Year, Bounds is just shy of 100 career training wins. Holliday, a nominee for the Horsewoman of the Year, joins to discuss her outriding and ownership career. Ted Barcus Race Fan of the Year Winner: Albert Nash (41.57%) Runner-Up: Colton Hay (24.05%) Nash won the inaugural Post Time with Mike and Mike Race Fan of the Year in 2015 and again in 2018. He is the first three-time winner of the award, spending his time congratulating participants victories via Facebook. Nash also carries a positive attitude and helps promote the sport of Harness Racing. Sam McKee Race Call of the Year Winner: Roger Huston - 2019 Little Brown Jug (32.15%) Runner-Up: Ken Warkentin - 2019 Sam McKee Memorial (17.68%) Huston, who retired from The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in 2019, found a special bond with Little Brown Jug champion, Southwind Ozzi. Southwind Ozzi went undefeated with Huston calling his races, this was the second victory for Huston in the category. Horsewoman of the Year, presented by Southern Oaks Training Center Winner: Nancy Takter (31.42%) Runner-Up: Ashley Holliday (16.19%) Takter took over some of the training duties of her father, Hall of Fame trainer Jimmy Takter in 2019. She sent out the most winners she has ever had in 2019, getting to the winners circle 72 times in 338 starts. She campaigned world-champion Captain Crunch to a powerful victory in the Pepsi North America Cup at Woodbine Mohawk Park in June, led Manchego to a world-record setting performance at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, then capped off her season with a powerful Breeders Crown performance by Manchego. Larry Rheinheimer Small Stable of the Year, presented by Harrah's Hoosier Park Winner: Galliers Racing (31.76%) Runner-Up: Altmeyer Wilder Racing Stable (19.65%) Galliers Racing Stable was started by young up and coming star Brady Galliers. Galliers was not born into racing like many horsemen, he has worked hard to become of the top stables in Ohio. He recent finished sixth in the training standings at Scioto Downs and has a strong social media presence promoting the sport of Harness Racing. Innovator of the Year, presented by the United States Trotting Association Winner: Wendy Ross (27.59%) Runner-Up: Rod Allums Jr. (25.89%) Ross began working for the USTA in May 2018, helping to spearhead some of harness racing's mainstream media. She helped to produce and put together the first harness racing Lip Sync battle and also helped put on a Harness Racing Carpool Karaoke. In 2018, she worked with Mark Weaver and Ron Burke to coordinate the Harness Racing FanZone Foiled Again Farewell tour. Upset of the Year, presented by Winners Circle Racing Stable Winner: Forbidden Trade winning the Hambletonian over Greenshoe (30.69%) Runner-Up: Caviart Ally defeating Shartin N in Lexington and the Breeders Crown (27.82%) Who could forget the dominant trio that trainer Marcus Melander had with Greenshoe, Gimpanzee, and Green Manalishi S produced in 2019, but it was Forbidden Trade who came out on top with a powerful victory in the Hambletonian Final. The win gave trainer Luc Blais and United States Harness Writers Association Rising Star Bob McClure their first victory in the $1 million event. Foiled Again Iron Horse of the Year Winner: T Red (31.57%) Runner-Up: Electric Lad (26.18%) T Red started his career at age two, with six victories in 19 starts making just over $7,000 in 2008. He is currently owned by trainer Henry Gulley and has hit the board in 18 of 42 starts in 2019 while winning seven races and making $25,427. T Red has raced all through Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana with just under $480,000 in career earnings. He set a lifetime mark of 1:51.1 at age five at Indiana Downs. His highest career earnings came in 2011 where he earned $63,300. This year, the duo had a record number of Small Stables that were nominated, then whittled down to six. Nominated for the category this year were Galliers Racing, Altmeyer Wilder Racing, the Trevor Williams Stable, the Tahnee Camilleri stable, Winners Circle Racing, and the Bill Mackenzie Stable. The award is named for trainer Larry Rheinheimer who was the first winner of the Small Stable of the year award. Rheinheimer passed away in September 2016. He is well known for training pacing superstar Freaky Feet Pete. Previous winners include Verlin Yoder, Jamie Macomber, JoAnn Looney-King, and Voting is still open in the 2019 Post Time with Mike and Mike Awards. Post Time with Mike and Mike is excited to announce that the nominations for the 2019 Post Time with Mike and Mike harness racing awards are now open. Listeners can access the nomination form on the Post Time Awards mini-site at http://www.posttimewithmikeandmike.com/post-time-with-mike-and-mike-awards.html. Nominations will be taken for the following categories: USTA Innovator of the Year, Ted Barcus Race Fan of the Year, Larry Rheinheimer Small Stable of the Year, Sam McKee Race Call of the Year, Horsewomen of the Year, Foiled Again Iron Horse of the Year, and Upset of the Year. Anyone can be nominated for any of the categories with the exception of the Iron Horse of the Year award. For that award, we are looking for horses who are either 13 or 14 years of age and have at least 200 starts during their racing careers and have at least 10 starts in 2019. A short biography is required with each nomination and only one nomination for each category per person. Nominations will be open until Noon on Monday (Dec. 23). Voting for the awards will begin at Noon on Thursday (Dec. 26) and run until noon on Tuesday (Jan. 14). The 2019 Post Time with Mike and Mike Awards will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2019. The 2019 Breeders Crown finals are hosted this year by Woodbine Mohawk Park. Mike Bozich, Nick Barnsdale, Ashley Mailloux, and Garnet Barnsdale will bring you all the action through the exciting weekend. The Post Time broadcast on Friday night will begin at 8:30 p.m., while Saturday's broadcast will begin at 8:00 p.m., both will run for three hours. The broadcast team will provide analysis and insight into the Breeders Crown race with pre- and post-race analysis. Barnsdale (Nick), and Mailloux will present winner's circle reaction following each Breeders Crown event. From a gamblers' perspective, there will be several wagers that will feature healthy guaranteed pools. Woodbine Mohawk Park will have a first post of 7 p.m. The 12 championship Breeders Crown finals, worth $6.2 million in purses, will be contested over two nights and could have Horse of the Year implications. Elkton, MD -- Post Time with Mike and Mike, presented by USTA/BetAmerica, continues their live remote season on Saturday (Aug. 3) with coverage of the 2019 Hambletonian, live from Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment in New Jersey. Mike and Mike will have extensive coverage of The Hambletonian beginning at 3:00 p.m. via their website that will run for three hours. Ashley Mailloux will join the duo providing interviews from the winner's circle, pre- and post-race reaction, and handicapping analysis of the stakes-laden program at The Meadowlands. Also joining the duo will be Daily Racing Form handicapper Garnet Barnsdale. Barnsdale will join Carter and Bozich during the broadcast to analyze the program. The Meadowlands has a 16-race program featuring multiple stakes events. First post is 12 noon. Gamblers will have a plethora of guarantees to swing at on Saturday afternoon. The guaranteed wagers begin in race three, where the 50-cent Pick 5 will carry a $50,000 guarantee. In race eight, the 50-cent Pick 4 will carry a mark of $100,000, and the final guaranteed wager will begin in race eleven, featuring a Pick 4 guaranteed at $50,000. Johansson, the trainer of world-champion Captain Crunch, joins to discuss the talented pacer. Captain Crunch has won four of five starts in 2019 with his only miscue being in the 2019 Pepsi North America Cup elimination. He enters the Pace as the 2/1 morning line favorite and looks to continue his winning ways. Tetrick, the regular driver of Workin Ona Mystery, will discuss the star pacer who has been on a roll since kicking off his 2019 season. 'Mystery' comes into the big dance as the 5/1 third choice with a tough draw towards the outside. Tetrick will look to secure his sixth Meadowlands Pace crown. Alagna comes into the Meadowlands Pace with four chances, all but one sired by the great Captaintreacherous. He will discuss his four pacers chances and how he feels the Captaintreacherous sired two- and three-year-olds are progressing.
