Saturday night Dec. 22 will be the final night of the fall 2012 harness racing meet and Rosecroft will close its successful meet with the biggest overnight card of the year in terms of purses and number of horses racing. One hundred and seventeen horses, of the 120 entered will square-off in 15 races, with total purses of more than $58,300.
Rosecroft's renaissance enters its third harness racing meet on Saturday night (Sept. 15) with a first post of 7:25 p.m. The card has ten races with an emphasis on the younger horses, but two races are of the popular 8-year-old and up handicaps.
On a beautiful late spring Saturday evening Rosecroft Raceway had its second highest handle since the 'Rosecroft Renaissance' began. Throughout the thirteen race harness racing card awards were presented to the stars and leaders of the meet, while leading driver Justin Vincent met and greeted the fans while signing a poster of himself and the meet's leading horses.
On a night where the Rosecroft faithful were heartened by the return of two of the three injured harness racing drivers from Tuesday's vicious accident, Tony Morgan won three races, while leading driver Justin Vincent scored a double.
While some 2-year-olds have qualified at other tracks in North America, Rosecroft is going to be one of the first to have baby races this year, when the harness racing track hosts a pair on Saturday night (May 19).
It may have been a nasty night for all those participating in the rain at Rosecroft Raceway on Saturday night (April 28), but harness racing owner David Kinee was all smiles as Art's Chic (Artiscape-Chicane Hanover) broke her maiden in her fourth career start.
Rising star harness racing driver Justin Vincent won six of ten drives on the Tuesday night (April 24) card at Rosecroft. He finished second three times and failed to hit the ticket just once.
