The 5/10 favorite Bilibili (9m Niky-Quetty du Donjon) stalked the leaders and wore them down in late stretch to win the Prix de Cornulier (Gr. I International Monte, purse 650,000€ 2700 meters, 16 starters) for jockey Alexandre Abrivard clocked in 1.12.1kr off even fractions. Laurent Claude Abrivard trains the winner for breeder/owner Jean Pierre Barjon as Bilibili repeated his 2019 victory and now has 14 career wins in 45 starts for 1,803,100€ earned. Roxane Grif was also a repeat winner in recent years (2015-16). The 17/1 Etoile e Bruyere (6f Kenor de Cosse) held second for Adrien Lamy and trainer Charles Dreux. Third was 14/1 Feeling Cash (5m Ready Cash-Royale Star) with Eric Raffin in the irons for trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Carlos Lerner. The 75/1 Carla du Castelets and 31/1 Evangelina Blue completed the top five. The exact order Quinte+ top five payoff was 9.905.60 to 174 ticketholders. The time of the race in kilometers was 1'12''1, which did not break last year’s record of 1'11''2, but it was still the 4th best time in the history of the race. Alexandre Abrivard signs a third victory in the Grand Prix de Cornulier, twenty days after being crowned Etrier d'Or for the second time. His trainer Laurent-Claude Abrivard won for the second time with the developer costume (he also won it as a jockey). For owner-breeder Jean-Pierre Barjon, this is a new triumph in one of the two biggest winter races at Paris-Vincennes, he too who saw his colors shine in the Grand Prix d'Amérique with Meaulnes of Corta . The Grand Prix de Cornulier (monte, Gr.I International, 2700 meters, purse 650,000€) is set for Sunday and initially 29 horses were engaged in what is likely to be an 18 horse field. The well-regarded Bilibili, Fado du Chene and Traders are among the top prospects. Bilibili, trained by Laurent Claude Abrivard for breeder/owner Jean Pierre Barjon, is a nine year old son of Niky and has proven to be an accomplished monte performer as he won the 2019 version of the Cornulier, the richest monte event, and has lifetime earnings of 1,510,600€. by Thomas H. The Prix de Lille (purse 80,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 16 starters) was the Quinte+ race of the day at Paris-Vincennes and the upper class field was dominated by Jean Michel Bazire trainees. JMB won the event driving 8/10 favorite Dorgos de Guez (7g Romcok de Guez-Lady Fromentro) to a 1.11.2kr score. He was near the fast fractions throughout and took the lead at about the halfway mark from Orlando Jet. Dorgos now has 20 career wins and 520,180€ earned. The 3.9/1 Colonel (8g Goetmals Wood-Royale Star) was a rallying second for Nicolas Bazire, trainer JMB and owner Ecurie des Charmes. Third was JMB trainee and 21/1 Dreambreaker (7g Offshore Dream-Brooke Boko) for Alexandre Abrivard. 49/1 Clif du Pomereux and 24/1 Ange de Lune completed the top five and the exact order Q+ payoff was 3,594.90€ to 491 winning tickets. The Q+ pool was 5,716,595€ and over 11,362,000 was wagered on the race. Four year olds were on stage for the Gr. II Prix de Tonnac-Villeneuve (purse 100,000€, 2700 meters, eight starters) with upset victory to 8.7/1 Green Grass (4f Bold Eagle-Tootsie Smiling). Mathieu Mottier piloted the winner for trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Sebastien Dewulf. Frederic Brouilloux bred the now eight time winner for 405,400€ earned. The afternoon’s highlight was the Gr. II monte Prix du Calvados (purse 130,000€, 2850 meters, International eligibles) and veteran Bilibili (9m Niky-Quetty du Bonjon) rallied late to score in 1.13kr as the even-money favorite. The victory was his 13th in a storied career that has produced earnings of 1,510,600€, and this win ensures a place in the 650,000€ purse Prix de Cornulier a week before the Prix d’Amerique. Bilibili was ridden by Alexandre Abrivard for trainer L.Cl. Abrivard and breeder/owner Jean Pierre Barjon, now the LeTrot President. Bilibili won this race in 2019 (timed in 1.12.4kr) and 2018 and he finished second in 2017. He also won the Prix de Cournulier in 2019 timed in 1.11.2kr and he was third in the monte classic in 2017 and 2018. Delia du Pommereux (6f Niky-Noune du Pommereux) rallied to win today’s Grand Prix du Bourbonnais (Gr. II International, purse 110,000€, 2850 meters, 18 starters) in the final strides for reinsman Franck Nivard, trainer Sylvain Roger and owner Noel Lolic, her 13th career victory now for 883,050€ earned. Delia du Pommereux , off the 2.9/1 favorite, also won this race a year ago clocked in 1.13kr, today it was 1.13.1kr. She was second in 2018 also in the GP Bretagne and Criterium 5 Ans. Today Delia du Pommeraux was forwardly placed early yielding to 3.2/1 second choice Bold Eagle (8m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet) that had worked his way to the front after 1200 meters for Eric Raffin. The Sebastien Guarato trained Bold Eagle held gamely for second. Fractions were rated (1.12.7kr with 1500 remaining; 1.12.7kr at the 1000 and 1.13.2kr with 500 meters to go). March 3, 2017 - A Nice Boy (7g Niky-Pretty Perle) won today’s Grand National du Trot Paris-Turf at Amiens, the first GNT leg. The €90,000 purse, Gr. III, 2900 meters harness racing event was contested by 18 horses. The winner, off at 2.9/1, was teamed by David Thomain, trained by J.P. Thomain and owned by Haras d’Erable. Race time was 1.14.8kr. 9.6/1 Arthuro Boy (7m Le Retour-Guyane) was second for breeder/owner/trainer/driver Yves Dreux. 5.7/1  Ambassadeur d’Am (7g Orlando Vici-Halatte des Acres) was third for Christophe Martens. 14/1 Verzee Carisaie was fourth for Eric Raffin and fifth was 23/1 Vichenko Chep for Ch. Dreux. The 2.3/1 favorite Avenir de Blay was tenth. After battling the now age-retired Scarlet Turgot, the superb harness racing six year-olds Bellissima France (6f Blue Dream-Quanta Rosa Sun) and Bilibili (6m Niky-Quetty du Donjon) battled to line in the Gr. II Prix du Calvados (purse €150,000, 2850 meters) at Vincennes. Both were away toward the end early with Bilibili outside of Bellissima, before Bilibil and Alexandre Abrivard (trainer L.Cl. Abrivard, owner Jean Pierre Barjon) zoomed to the front around the final bend and jetted off to what looked like an insurmountable lead. Bellissima France (driver Matthieu Abrivard, also trainer, owner LD-M Abrivard) escaped her position locked on the pylons and worked toward the top pack, then darted toward the inside and drove past Bilibili on the line. She was clocked in 1.13.6kr off rated fractions (1.14.5kr at the 1500 to go mark; 1.14.1kr with 1000 remaining; 1.13.9kr at the 500) and raised her career earnings to €643,330. Ducher. 2/1 A Nice Boy (6g Niky-Pretty Perle) took second with David Thomain up and third went to 4/1 Auch (6g Niky-Migraine) for owner/trainer/driver Christian Bigeon. This day the Prix de Picardie (purse €90,000, 2850 meters, 18 European starters) went to 1.15.8kr timed Tessy d’Ete (4f Ganymede-Love Me Tender).
