The  56/1 (PMU odds, 11/1 on ATG) outsider Hesiod (4m Explosive Matter-SJs Sentiment-SJs Photo) scored in gate to wire fashion for Ulf Ohlsson and trainer Petri Salmela. PS Horse AM owns the winner that recorded his 15th career victory in 30 starts, now for 175,718€ earned, 75,000€ of which was earned today. Windsun Farm of Canada (Harkey Harkness) bred the winner. Enterprise (4m Chapter Seven-Shes Gone Again) was second for Carl Johan Jepson and trainer Stefan Melander, for Courant AB, at 4.9/1 odds. Classic Connection (4m Love You-Crys Dream) rallied four wide around the final bend, after being shuffled from post one, to be a closing third, handled by owner/breeder Jean Pierre Dubois for trainer Yves Boireau, this one off at 5.4/1 odds on PMU and 15/1 on ATG. Prosperous (4g Prodigious) and favorite Tsunami Diamant (4m Gustav Diamant) completed the top five. Giveitgasandgo and Heart of Steel battled for supremacy early, could not pass Hesiod, and drifted into obscurity in the late going. Race time was 1.12.1kr. The undercard included other great action. The three year olds battled for a 30,000€ purse over 2200 meters autostart with that victory to Great Gatsby As (3m Abano As-Glide Be Nimble) and driver Heinz Wewering, for trainer Erwin Bot. Two year oldsraced for a 30,000€ purse over 1680 meters autostart. Marylin Monroe Bo (2f Andover Hall-Sweet Home Alabama) took that one for trainer/driver Thorsten Teitz over the Chapter Seven filly Arquana As, that Robin Bakker teamed. A 50,000€ purse event for non-winners of 50,000€ named the Deutschland Cup, raced over 2200 meters autostart, saw Mister Ed Heldia (4m Conway Hall-Lady Heldia) win for driver Michael Nimczyk over Hugo Lobell with Rick Ebbinge up.. Aged campaigners were also on the stage for a 30,000€ purse and the winner of this 1680 meters autostart event was General Bianco (5g Ufo Kievitshof-Zaskia Fortuna) handled by trainer Peter Untersteiner. Ulf Ohlsson teamed the Petri Salmela trainee to his third 2018 victory in eight starts and 20th career win in 41 appearances. The Stall Nian trotter now has 4,636,450SEK earned for his career. The 3.9/1 odds Makethemark defeated Milligan’s School (5m Yankee Glide-Tori Ann-SJs Photo) that Ulf Eriksson drove for owner/trainer Stefan Melander. This one was bred in the USA by Richard and Joyce McClelland of Ohio, also co-owners of Pinkman. Third in this event was Cyber Lane (5g Raja Mirchi-Sybaris Hanover-Cantab Hall) with trainer Johan Untersteiner aboard. Double Exposure (5f Donato Hanover-KD Girl-Self Possessed) was fourth. On the card was also the Prix Maharajah (Mares European Championship, 900,000SEK to the winner, 2140 meters autostart, 12 starters).Darling Mearas (5f Cantab Hall-Khao Manee-Muscles Yankee) scored easily at 8.1/1 odds for trainer Stefan Persson and owner Snogarps Gard AB timed in 1.11.4kr, for her third 2018 victory in six starts and 11th career win in just 22 outings. She now sports 6,069,500SEK in career earnings. Finland’s Ranch Kelly (10f Tsar d’Inverne-Gabriela Kemp-Speedy Somolli) was second for driver Hannu Torvinen and third was In Toto Sund (6f Ken Warkentin-Marsia LB-Windsongs Legacy) with Orjan Kihlstom up. Trendy OK and I Love Paris completed the top five. April 19, 2017 - 2.7/1 Makethemark (4m Maharajah-Global Naughty-Conway Hall) took today’s Solvallaserien III (100,000SEK to the winner, 2140 meters autostart) for harness racing driver Ulf Ohlsson, driving for Petri Salmela. Timed in 1.13.1kr the winner was victorious in his first 2017 appearance and is now 14 for 19 lifetime with 1,972,500SEK career earnings. 8/1 Milligan’s School (4m Yankee Glide-Tori Ann-SJ’s Photo) took second for Stefan Melander. Richard and Joyce McClelland bred this one. 52/1 Mindyourvalue WF (4g Hovding Lavec-Mind Your Manners-Dahir de Prelong) was third for Ulf Eriksson and trainer Robert Bergh. Earlier in the week at Halmstad, the Yngve Larssons Memorial (100,000SEL to the winner, 1640 meters autostart) went to 1.1/1 Delicious US (8f Cantab Hall-Ipsara LB-Lemon Dra) timed in 1.10.4kr for reinsman Orjan Kihlstrom and trainer Daniel Reden. Stall Zet owns the talented mare that was bred by Lindy Farms.
