This week's Bookie Update thanks to Richard Wilson Thursday – Forbury Park The most popular race on the card was R4.  $2,000 on Miss Fandango @ $3.30 Top3 paid well but $3,000 Pete's Dash @ $3.50 & $3,000 Pete's Dash @ $1.60 Top3 both missed.  Plenty of money for Kate's Carrera @ $1.90 & Born To Boogie @ $2 missed the mark.  Once Complete Package got to $3.60 from his opening quote of $3, there were some decent bets landed on him. Friday – Blenheim Punters got the better of us at Blenheim on Friday despite the largest 3 bets all missing the mark.  They were $3,600 & $2,000 bets on Nandolo @ $1.40 and $3,000 on Madeleine Stowe @ $2.60.  The not so big punts were cashing in on Be Mine Tonight @ $5.50 into $4, Raison D'Etre $2.30-$2, Red Hot Poker $3.10-$2.90, Forgotten Highway $3-$2.90 and Wrangler @ $1.85 into $1.60. Friday – Auckland Another Auckland plunge came off on Friday night with Scoob Operator $5 into $3.  The best of many tickets on him was $750 @ $5.  Commando One later in the night was also a terrible result for us with the largest bet on him being $3,000 @ $5.20.  Saving the night was the upset win of Suzie Pee Jay in R5.  She was $15 out to $18 and with plenty of support for to top half of the market, she was a great result.  $3,000 Seaswift Joy @ $1.43 also missed as did $1,200 Max Phactor @ $8.80 in the same race. Sunday – Blenheim Day 2 @ Blenheim not great for us with the big punters hitting form.  $5,000 Alta Shelby @ $3.10 the best bet with $5,000 & $3,000 on Madeleine Stowe @ $2.50 and $5,000 Red Hot Poker @ $2.20 not bad either.  $2,000 Tinker Taylor @ $3.60 struck in the last & $350 Doctor Time @ $14 got the cream in R2.  Thankfully not everything went punters way.  Nandolo proved costly again with bets of $10,000 and $4,500 @ $1.45 on there. Multi of the Week: $13 & Auckland on Friday: Scoob Operator @ $2.90 Commando One @ $5 Rose Ryal @ $5.50 (Top3) Miss Blissful @ $4.50 (Top3) Returned $4,665.40 (There was the same multi for $10 except ending on Miss Blissful to win @ $30 to return $37,440) HRNZ Marketing

Richard Wilson from the TAB with last weeks harness racing bookie update. Thursday – Cambridge Not many large bets to report from Cambridge.  Franco Empire was well backed @ $2 & scored nicely in R3 but the best backed runner on the night was Some Change in R5.  Almost $20,000 was held in win bets on him @ $2.40-$1.90. Friday – Nelson Another quiet meeting for big bets @ Nelson but a well placed $50 on The Jandel Machine @ $81 provided a $4,000 profit.  Some decent collects provided by Pembrook's Passion @ $9.50-$7.50 & Storm Prince was very solid in the last @ $3.20-$3.30.  The best backed runner on the card was Saying Grace @ $2.20-$1.85. Friday – Auckland A good old plunge came off on Friday night.  Alta Leonie was strongly backed as soon as the markets opened on Thursday night.  $900 @ $5.50 and $2,500 @ $2.80 were the best of a heap on bets on her.  Also strongly backed on the night was Classie Brigade @ $1.95-$1.50.  The best bet on him was $8,500 @ $1.70.  Also providing a nice return was $500 on Bubbles O'Leary @ $8.  Saving our bacon were a $10,000 bet on Megamind @ $2.40, $5,000 Geena's Girl @ $3.60 & $3,800 Geena's Girl @ $3.40. Saturday – Invercargill Another quiet day in terms of big bets on Saturday.  Punters on the mark with Glens Of Tekoa very solid @ $2.70, Born To Boogie @ $3.60 into $3 and Dachy $5 into $3.80.  Strongly backed in the last was Repartee @ $3.10-$2.70, but a bad tyre problem there let us off the hook with Franco Huntington $28-$41 a good result. Sunday – Nelson Punters had the midas touch on Sunday at Nelson.  The best bets were $5,000 Change Is Good @ $2.70 and $10,000 on the outside Saddlecloths in R5 @ $1.71.  A couple of horses redeemed themselves from Friday.  Saying Grace @ $2-$1.75, $2,000 or $3,000 bets @ each of $1.90, $1.80 @ $1.70 & Johnny White @ $3-$3.30 was hit late @ $3.30.  The only result that went our way was R1 where Bettor Trenz wasn't wanted by punters @ $4.50-$5.80 whilst Three Ideas was popular @ $2.20-$1.95. Multi of the Week: (placed May 7th) $200 ending on Sunday: Another Masterpiece @ $2.50 (Jewels Futures) Enhance Your Calm @ $2.30 (Jewels Futures) Winterfell @ $1.80 (Jewels Futures) Justify to win the Triple Crown @ $4 Returned $8,280

Thursday – Cambridge A bit of everything at Cambridge on Thursday night.  The best bet was $100 on The Hulk @ $101 & the second best was $8,818 on Monaro Mia @ $1.55.  Other handy bets were $500 Helena Ideal @ $9.80, $1,000 Spring Campaign @ $4.60 & $250 In The Shadows @ $14.  Thankfully, there were a few misses as well.  $8,888 on All American @ $1.80 was the largest.  $4,500 Lion Rock @ $2, $3,500 Summer Wealth @ $2.40 and $3,000 Pay Master @ $3.70 also missed. Friday – Addington NZ Oaks night saw a few number of big bets placed.  The best of them was $1,000 Over The Love @ $7.  Also pretty good were $6,000 Extreme Stride @ $1.65 and $5,000 Enhance Your Calm @ $1.65.  Plenty of punters happy with other winners in Ohanzee @ $2.20, Enghien @ $1.60-$1.50, and Mach Up in the last @ $1.50-$1.55.  The best backed runner on the night was Elle Mac in the Oaks.  There was close to $40,000 on her from $1.65 into $1.45, the largest bets being $10,000 @ $1.45, $8,000 @ $1.50 and $2,500 @ $1.65.  Also missing were $5,000 Pat's Delight @ $1.85 and $3,000 Another Masterpiece @ $2.20. Saturday – Gore A much quieter day at Gore on Saturday but interesting non-the-less.  Lazarus's little bro scored on debut & was a solid second fav @ $5.50 behind Motu Top Mach @2.60-$2.  Well backed favourites had a good run with Betstars Blue Jean $1.55-$1.60, Schweinsteiger $2.70-$2.60, Pres The Belle $2.70-$3, and Alfie Romeo @ $3 all winning.  Upset winner Maidonthebeach was a better result for us than the one that looked home in Especial, but @ $21 she carried plenty of support and cost us a bit.  Saving our bacon was Whata Razzle Dazzle $19-$21 in the last race where Ideal Breeze @ $3.90-$3.50 and Jakira $4.20-$4.80 carried a tonne of support. Sunday – Oamaru A tough day for us at Oamaru on Sunday.  The best bet was a big one on Dexter to win the Drivers Challenge, $10,000 @ $1.70 with Dexter getting home by 2 points.  The other decent plunge was on Bettor Be Gold.  $1,200 & $1,000 bets @ $3.50 were the largest of a heap on bets that say him close the $2.90 favourite.  Punters also cashed in on One Over Da Stars, The Dominator, Sam Galleon, Boomer Bailey, Buzinga and OK I'm Bad.  Providing us a little relief were $1,700 Neverneverland @ $4.50 and $2,200 Pembrooks Passion @ $1.90 (Top3). Tuesday – Manawatu Blair Orange & Michael House again dominated racing at Manawatu on Tuesday.  The best bets were two $2,000 bets on Apocalypse @ $2.60 and $1,800 on Need Luck @ $2.80.  Dipping out were $5,000 bets on Spirit Of Love @ $3.10 and Whataboyz @ $2.40. Multi of the Week: Addington Friday night:  Ohanzee @ $2.20 Enhance Your Calm @ $1.85 Jesse Duke @ $3.70 Enghien @ $1.60 Shez All Rock @ $3.80 Returned $9,156 HRNZ

Richard Wilson from the TAB with last weeks harness racing bookie update. Wednesday – Cambridge A quiet start to the week at Cambridge.  The worst result for us came via one of the longer priced winners in Magical Miss.  She opened @ $19 & was backed into $12.  Kiwi Tintin was very solid @ $3.80, Tickle Me Pink got the job done in R1 @ $1.35-$1.40 and punters were also onto Agioncourt @ $4.  The largest miss of the meeting was $1,500 Linc's Bute Girl Top3 @ $1.60. Thursday – Timaru @ Addington A late surge of support for Queen Bee Bardon was the story of Thursday night.  $4,000 & $5,000 bets on her @ $2.70 netted nice profits.  Pat Campbell & Better Decision were other well backed favourites that score for punters.  A couple of bets that lessened our pain were $5,000 Tall Poppy @ $3.10 and $3,300 One Apollo @ $3.70. Friday – Auckland Rowe Cup & Messenger night was a mixed bag on Friday night.  Winterfell bolted home to justify his short price in the Northern Derby, a $10,000 bet @ $1.35 there.  $1,000 on Sex On Fire @ $4.60 was also very lucrative.  Races 3 & 4 were interesting in that two horses in each held most of the win money with the one with slightly less on getting home, they being Habibi Inta & Kayla Marie.  Eamon Maguire in the Messenger & Star Of Montanna in the last were other very well backed winners.  Race two proved to be the best for us with $5,000 on Henry Hubert @ $2.70 & $3,600 Top3 Rain Man @ $1.55 both missing out.  Enghien was well backed in the Rowe cup but Speeding Spur also had support @ $4.20-$4.40. Saturday – Ashburton Abandoned. Sunday – Invercargill Diamonds day on Sunday & there were quite a few big bets.  A great win for the locals in the Southern Supremacy Final by The Duke Of Wellington but that wasn't good for us.  Bets of $1,000 @ $4.50 & $2,000 @ $4.40 the best of many on him.  $2,000 Especial @ $4.20, $5,000 Franco Santino @ $1.95 Top3 and $10,000 A Bettor Act @ $1.42 also got the money.  The biggest miss of the day was Black Ops.  $4,000 bets @ $1.50 & $1.45 as well as another $10,000 @ $1.45 were the tip of that Iceberg.  My Wee Man attracted bets of $3,000 @ $3.70 & $3,700 @ $3.60 & helped us out somewhat. Multi of the Week: $50 @ Auckland on Friday Sex On Fire @ $4.60 Kayla Marie @ $3.40 Eamon Maguire @ $3.10 Speeding Spur @ $4.20 Returned $10,182 Courtesy Richard Wilson (TAB)

Harness racing Bookmaker Richard Wilson with a weekly update of the major winning and losing bets from the past week. Wednesday – Cambridge Three Kisses was the best backed horse at Cambridge with bets of $2,000 @ $2.10 & $10,000 @ $2 coming unstuck.  Punters latched onto Caitlyn Clarke $1.65-$1.50 and Malibar Spur was well found @ $8.50-$8.  Christanna @ $4.20-$4.40 & Somewhereinbrooklyn @ $9.20-$5.50 were also good for punters. Thursday – Forbury Park A tough night for punters on Thursday night.  Not many large bets to report.  Brian Norman trained the first 3 winners with Dexter Dunn driving the latter two & all three were bad results for us.  Results in the middle of the programme fell our way though.  Fraud & McLaren were both well backed in R5 but both struggled, the Pat Campbell was strongly backed @ $4 in R6 but found one too good.  Punters struck back in the last with Honour the bet $10 into $7 salvaging the night for many. Friday – Addington Another night at Addington dominated by well backed commodities.  With Ice $7-$8.50 & Mystical Star $6.20-$6.50 were two winners that punters missed out on but all the others were well found.  Bettor Joy $1.85-$1.70 was the best backed runner on the night.  Friday – Auckland Group racing at Auckland & all winners were $7.50 or less with us.  The best bets were $500 Billy At Salsa @ $7 & $660 Lemond @ $5.50. A few $1,000 bets got home on Winterfell @ $2.40 & Habibi Inta was well backed around $3.40.  A bit of a plunge came unstuck in R2 with Double O Heaven $20-$7.50.  $400 @ $20, $600 @ $12 & $1,000 @ $9 the largest of a stack of bets there.  Enghien was strongly backed in R6 taking the sting out of Lemond's win.  Three horses dominated the Taylor Mile with Star Galleria attracting four $1,000 bets, two @ $2.60 & two @ $2.40.  There was $3,000 Let It Ride @ $3.50 & More The Better has a couple of $1,000 bets @ $4.60. Saturday – Invercargill A wet day & slushy track made for a bad day for hot favourites at Invercargill.  $600 Miss Bamboocha @ $7 was the best bet but Dachy @ $5-$4.60 & Duke Of Wellington @ $5.50 were well liked by punters.  Eastwood Chieftain provided a blowout @ $28-$41 scoring well in R2.  $2,500 bets on Feel The Money @ $1.80 & $1.75 missed the mark as did $2,800 Rockaball @ $1.70 & $2,800 Hail Christian @ $1.70. Sunday – Rangiora The best bet at Rangiora was $7,200 on Dexter Dunn tow win the Drivers Challenge @ $2.10.  Nervous times early on with no points after 3 races but he had it wrapped up with a couple to go.  The day kicked off with a decent plunge on Oscar Bonavena.  He was $4.80-$2.40 with bets of $500 @ $4.80, $4 & $3.50, $1.000 @ $3, $1,200 @ $2.60 & $1,300 @ $2.50 plus plenty of smaller bets along the way.  Koromiko Eyre was strongly backed but didn't deliver in R2.  $1,500 bets at both $2.30 & $2.20 & $2,000 @ $2 missed out as did $2,300 Arnold @ $1.70. Multi of the Week: $75 @ Friday Boxed all Top3 (9 out of 10) Homebush Tasha @ $2.70 Addington Greyhounds Sex On Fire @ $2.30 Auckland Gold Orchid @ $1.70 Auckland Miss Streisand @ $4.50 Auckland (Missed) Denstown @ $2.80 Addington Vera's Delight @ $2 Addington Natives Lasting Love @ $2.20 Addington Wait For Success @ $2.90 Addington Sounds Bettor @ $5 Addington His Royal Harness @ $2.05 Addington Returned $9,646.50   Richard Wilson (Tab)
