I Prix de l’Etoile (purse €240,000, 2200 meters, 12 starters) went to 8.5/1 Ecu Pierji (3m Tucson-Tosca Pierji) for Mathieu Mottier, trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Ph. Dewulf timed in a quick 1.11.1kr (solid fractions 1.09.8kr at the 1500 to go mark; 1.09.4kr at the 1000 and 1.11.kr with 500 meter left). 3.1/1 Erming d’Oliverie (3f Scipion du Goutier) was four back in second for Franck Nivard and trainer Franck Leblanc. 56/1 Easy des Racques (3m Rodrigo Jet) was home third for J.Ph.Monclin. The Gr. I Prix de Normandie (monte, purse €240,000, 3000 meters, 15 starters) went to 6.5/1 Cassate (5f Neoh Jiel-Quiva du Rib). Antoine Lamy teamed the winner for J.L. Dersoir, trainer for Ecurie Luck. 21/1 Chablis d’Lerfraie (5m Giant Cat) was next for jockey David Thomain and third was 6.3/1 Cyprien des Bordes (5m Ouragon de Celland) for trainer Joel Hallais and J.L. CL Dersoir in the irons. Race time was 1.14.3kr. The program also included the Prix Alfred LeFevre (monte, purse €100,000, 2850 meters, 16 starters) and 7/10 favorite Traders (5m Ready Cash-Graziella) prevailed for Yoann Lebourgeois and owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. 59/1 Caduceus des Brux (5g Mark Speed-Festina des Baux) took second for Mathieu Abrivard and 13/1 Boeing du Bocage (6m Scipion du Goutier) was third for the Franck Nivard/Franck Leblanc team. Earlier the Prix de Montelimar (purse €60,000, 2700 meters, eight European starters) drew three year old males and the 3/2 second favorite Express Jet (3m Goetmals Wood-Run For Jet) scored for trainer/driver Pierre Vercruysse and Ecurie Opale timed in 1.14.7kr. The 1.3/1 favorite Classic Connection (3m Love You-Crys Dream) was a solid second for Franck Nivard, teaming for Yves Boireau and owner Jean-Pierre Dubois. 10/1 Echo de Larre (3m Echo-Sonnette Mike) was next for Mathieu Abrivard. The Quinte+ Prix de Moulins la Marche (purse €68,000, 2850 meters, 15 European starters) saw a host of longshots on top of the ticket timed in 1.13.2kr. 26/1 Vasco de Viette (8g Capriccio-Nonette Tivoli) scored for David Thomain ahead of 14/1 Apollon de Kacy and Franck Nivard. 79/1 Totem d’Azur, 24/1 Tell Me No Lies and 23/1 Venus de Bailly were home third through fifth. The payoff was huge. On Friday the Q+ was the Prix Ophelia (purse €50,000, 2850 meters, 18 starters) and hard-working 1.9/1 odds Bolt (6m Prince Gede-Souvola) scored again for breeder/owner/trainer/driver Christophe Gallier. September 17, 2017 - Today at Bologna, Italy (804 meter track) featured the Grand Premio Continentale (Harness racing four years old males, purse €209,000, 2060 meters autostart) produced a resounding five length 1.11.5kr timed win for Urlo Dei Venti (4m Mago d’Amore-Armbro Wealthy-Malabar Man) driven by Enrico Bellei. The great gaited colt trotted away from his pursuers around the last bend. Unicorno SLM (4m Love You-CL Brightness-King Conch) was second for Wim Paal. Third went to Dreammoko (4m Timoko-Uranie d’Atout-Kaisy Dream) handled by Gabriele Gelormini in his presumed final start before the Yonkers International in New York. The four year old mares contested the Grand Premio Continentale Filly (purse €77,000, 1660 meters autostart) and Une Etoile Gar (4f Varenne-Lorin-Ganymede) prevailed timed in 1.12.6kr for her 11th career win in 34 starts. Mario Minopoli Jr. teamed the winner. Second was Uma Francis (4f Explot Caf-Fashion Dei Sogni-Lemon Dra) driven by Enrico Bellei. September 16, 2017 - Gyorgy Horvath piloted his (co-owner) Sultana Jet (6f Igor Font-Art Deco-Diamond Way) to another harness racing victory Saturday (her fourth straight win and seventh in ten 2017 outings) in the featured Uli DIJ (purse 600,000Huf, 2400 meters autostart) at Kincsem Park. The winning team defeated Ordog Hegeduse (9g Medic Hanover-Dallar-Magnus) with Ferenc Nagi II up and third was Szacharin (6f Vanito-Inzulin-Valley Guardian) for trainer/driver Istvan Papp. Race time was 1.19.1kr over the extended distance and the winner (#6) is pictured. The undercard showed the Istis Jerez DIJ (purse 400,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart) and the 1.17.6kr timed winner was Unika Vik (4f Cantab Hall-Nashville OM-Uronometro) for Balazs Juhasz. September 12, 2017 - Harness racing 9/10 favorite Clemenza AM (5g Muscle Hill-No Better Kronos) took the Quinte+ Grand Prix Dynavena Maisagri-Duran ay Beaumont de Lomanges (purse €40,000, 2550 meters distance handicap, 14 european starters) scoring timed in 1.15.3kr for reinsman Dominik Locqueneux, trainer Lutfi Kolgjini and owner Courant AB. The winner earned €18,000 and increased his career earnings to €121,918. 32/1 Twist Lie (10g Indu de Vive) was second overcoming a 25 meters penalty for Eric Audebert. September 11, 2017 - Mathieu Abrivard teamed 1.9/1 favorite Dragon du Fresne (4m Sdaphir Castelets-Rosee des Bois) to an easy victory in Monday’s Paris-Vincennes featured Prix Cenari Forcinal (Gr. II monte, purse €120,000, 2175 meters, eight starters). Timed in 1.13.8kr the winner drew away in the final turn for a easy victory, his eighth in 30 starts now for €569,710 earned. L.Cl. Abrivard trains the Dragon, that defeated 11/1 Dragon d’Avril (4m Thorsens Vedaquais) and jockey Adrian Lamy. Third went to 134/1 outsider Doria Raudiere. Click here for a replay of race. September 9, 2017 - Aubrion du Gers (7g Memphis du Rib-J’Arrive du Gers) followed a large leading Valko Jenilat throughout and then gamely held on between horses to win the Gr.II RMC Finale European Trotting Masters (purse €400,000, 2700 meters, 14 starters) for harness racing owner/trainer/driver J-M Bazire, recording the 26th career victory for the winner (off at 4.8/1 odds), now with earnings over 1.3 million euro. Race time was 1.11.6kr on a sloppy surface and contested in heavy rain (fractions 1.11.8kr at 1500 meters to go; 1.11.2kr at the 1000 and 1.11.8kr with 500 remaining). Bold Eagle (6m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet) was second for the heavy urging Franck Nivard, at 1/5 odds, trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Pierre Pilarski. The Eagle was away sluggishly and finally settled third over and then fourth on the pegs before moving sharply forward outside in the last bend, almost interfering with rallying Twister Bi. He got to the winners’ wheel but no further. Twister Bi (5m Varenne-Lorraine Bi) driven by Alexandre Abrivard for trainer Jerry Riordan and owner Pasquale Ciccarelli) rallied decisively in the lane after being impeded and veered toward the inside as the finish approached, nearly earning second at 23/1. Valko Jenilat held fourth while several top rated trotters were dq’d- DD’s Hitman, Volstead, Ringostarr Treb and On Track Piraten. The Paris-Vincennes program also included other groupe races. The monte Prix de Basly (gr. II, purse €120,000, 2175 meters, three year olds) went to Evidence Roc (3f Paris Haufor-Misface du Boulay) timed in 1.13.7kr and with Emilie LeBeller in the irons. She also trains for Ecurie d’Embeli. Each Time (3f Coktail Jet) and Epatante (3f Village Mystic) were next to the line. Three year olds lined up for the Prix Emile Wendling (Gr. III, purse €80,000, 2700 meters) and Vamp Kronos (3f Ready Cash-Only Kronos) scored timed in 1.15.1kr for Bjorn Goop. Jerry Riordan trains the winner that defeated Classic Connection (3m Love You-Crys Dream) with Franck Nivard driving for trainer Yves Boireau and owner/breeder Jean Pierre Dubois. Four year olds contested the Prix Joseph Aveline (Gr. III, purse €80,000, 2850 meters) and Diego de Bomo (4g Prince d’Espace) scored timed in 1.14.6kr for Anthony Dollion, also owner/trainer. September 3, 2017 - Jagersro hosted today’s Swedish Derby events, first the Gr.I national Broline Filly Derby (mares, purse €204,800, 2140 meters autostart, 12 starters). 3/5 favorite Cash Crowe (4f Ready Cash-Giant Crowe-Gigant Neo) prevailed timed in 1.11.59kr for driver Johnny Takter and trainer Petri Puro.  PP Trav AB owns the winner, now with 10 career wins in only 12 starts. The two length victor won over 14/1 Mulligan (4f Maharajah-Music la Mark) for Thomas Uhrberg, also owner/trainer. 45/1 Unique Juni (4f Uptown Yankee-Staro Unique) took third for driver Peter Untersteiner and trainer H.R. Stromberg. The Gr. I National Svenskt Trav Derby (males, purse €409,600, 2640 meters autostart, 12 starters) went to 1.12.8kr timed and 27.4/1 Cyber Lane (4g Raja Mirchi-Sybaris Hanover). Johan Untersteiner trains and drove the winner for Levaux AB. 12/1 Monark Newwen (4m Orlando Vici-Lady Value) was next for trainer/driver Fredrik Persson ahead of 8/1 Global Trustworthy (4m Muscle Hill-Trophy Stand) and Jorma Kontio for trainer Timo Nurmos. 1.2/1 Rajesh Face was fifth and 5.6/1 Policy of Truth was eighth. At Craon France was the Trophee Vert Prix V and B (purse €80,000, 2775 meters distance handicap, 13 starters) and the 1.20.5kr timed winner on the rain affected grass was 20/1 Vulcania de Godrel (8f Memphis du Rib-Julietta) reined by Eric Raffin. This was the day’s Quinte+ event. 7.6/1 Uniflosa Bella (9f Jag de Bellouet-Koctiflosa Bella) was second for Antoine Wiels and trainer/owner Jean Paul Marmion. Third was 4/1 Baxter du Klau (6g Oiseau de Feux-Imia Josselyn) handled by J-M Bazire for trainer J.M. Baudouin. Well regarded Tresor Wic was 11th, Bugsy Malone was a dq when making a tired break when challenged in the lane, at 3/5 odds, and All Feeling was sixth. In the absence of reportedly retired Timoko, the Wolvega featured Grand Prix de Victoria Park (Gr. II, purse €50,000, 2600 meters) went to 6.3/1 Beau Gamin (6g Quinoa du Gers-Cadette) handled by Hugo Langeweg Jr. for trainer Sebastien Guarato for owner J.M. Rancoule. Timed in 1.14kr this winner defeated 14/1 Truman Dairpet (10f Biesolo-Heloise Poterie) and pilot Piet Van Pollaert. Yesterday at Lahto FI was the Suomalginen Derby worth €150,000 to the winner of this 2650 meter test. The 1.13.3kr clocked winner was Benjamin Evo (4m Kadabra-China Tea Party-Muscles Yankee) handled by trainer Veijo Hesikanen. September 2, 2017 - An excellent afternoon of trotting accompanied a three day Food Truck Festival an Kincsem Park and it drew a fine audience, also on the Friday night twilight harness racing program. Saturday was highlighted by the Josef Marschall Memorial (purse 6Huf million, or US$23,300, 1800 meters autostart) and victory went to 1.13.9kr timed Rapido OK (7g Ganymede-Movida OK-Indro Park) handled by trainer Josef Franzl. The German invaders bested Othellovictory (6g Diamond Way-Victory Blue-Malhana Sascha) handled by Christopher Fischer for trainer Gregor Krenmayer. Bronsvlinder (9m Castleton Bass-Jasmin Dear-Manza Buitenzorg) took third catch driven by Hugo Langeweg Jr. for trainer Tibor Hajnal. The co-featured Hungaria DIJ (purse 4Huf million, US$15,533, 2560 meters distance handicap based on age, three and four year olds) went to 1.17.8kr timed Baxter Hill (3m Muscle Hill-Bentane Hanover-Andover Hall) reined by trainer Josef Franzl. Great day in Hungary for Franzl. Urilany R was second for Veljko Mazsity and Villam Ville (3b Beissinger Hanover) took the third spot for driver/trainer Imre Fazekas. The Istvan Szegedy Memorial for open trotters was contested over 1900 meters autostart for the 1.2Huf million purse and the 1.15.4kr winner was Underpaid Hanover (8m Revenue-Up Front Lisa-Lindy Lane) trained by Jozsef Rutkai and driven by Imre Fazekas. He rallied to lead and hold off Donato Luca (8m Donerail-High Weeds-Tagliabue) driven by Hugo Langeweg Jr. for trainer Csaba Lakatos. Local stalwart Milliondollar Lux (11m Ganymede-Dedaumpa Jet-Supergill) was third for driver/trainer Emil Csordas, the game pacesetter. Other noteworthy winners on the card were Henrik Ibsen AT (5m Worship) for trainer/driver Tibor Hajnal timed in 1.16.6kr over 1800 meters autostart in the 600,000Huf purse Laszlo Fekete Memorial. Urania RG and Rocket Boy were next across the line. Earlier, two year olds contested the 1800 meter autostart Nyerfetlem Ketevesek and the 1.20.6kr timed winner was Zenit Charme (2m Offenbach Bigi-Jolly Beauty-Jolly Guardian) for trainer/driver Imre Fazekas. Zseda (2f Frullino Jet) and Zseneroz (2f SJs Photo) were second and third. The program also included the second leg of the Budapest-NY Amateur Challenge. This day Sunny (6g Oncoming Hush-Vivian King-Crowning Point) scored timed in 1.19.4kr over the 1900 meter autostart course for Andrea Fazekas. Ms. Fazekas won an amateur event at Pompano Park last year. Ors (9m Pickaflick) was a rallying second for Andras Gaspar ahead of Primusz (8g Rajon Jet) driven by New York’s Paul Minore. September 1, 2017 - Friday and Thursday harness racing programs at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes were highlighted by two groupe events on Thursday and the Friday Quinte+ Prix Alexandra (purse €44,000, 2100 meters autostart, 18 European starters). The latter went to 9/10 favorite Banks (8g Abano As-Brisana) with trainer Michael Nimczyk aboard, in from Germany. Clocked in 1.13.1kr, the winner bested 6.1/1 Djali Boko (7m Ready Cash-Lucky Lavec) that is trained and owned by Lutfi Kolgjini and this day driven by Dominik Locqueneux. 12/1 Rocket Zet (8g Muscles Yankee-Hefty Zet) took the third spot for Matthieu Abrivard. On Thursday at Vincennes was the Gr. II monte Prix Legoux-Louqpre (purse €120,000, 2850 meters, eight starters) and this 1.14.7kr clocked winner was 4.2/1 Corames (5f Speedy Blue-Reine Magic) teamed by Mathieu Mottier for breeder/owner/trainer Dominique Mottier. 2/1 favorite Chant des Sirenes (5m Opus Viervil-Nice Quenny) was second for Eric Raffin, ahead of 15/1 Cere Josselyn (5f Kaisy Dream-Katie) and pilot Yoann Lebourgeois. The Gr. II Prix Jules Thibault (purse €120,000, 2700 meters, 10 starters) on the same card went to 1.14.1kr timed and 17.4/1 odds Diablo du Noyer (4m Jasmin de Flore-Une et Indivisible). David Thomain teamed the William Bigeon trainee for owner Cl. Guedj. 4/5 favorite Django Riff (4m Ready Cash-Rasta Perrine) held second gamely for Yoann Lebourgeois driving for Philippe Allaire and breeder/owner Elisabeth Allaire. 2.9/1 Dreammoko (4m Timoko-Urania d’Atout) was a solid third for Gabriele Gelormini and trainer Richard Westerink, he also trainer/owner of Timoko. September 2, 2017 - Today’s Paris Vincennes harness racing groupe action began with the Prix Victor Regis (Gr. II for three year olds, purse  €120,000, 2700 meters, eight starters) and the even money favorite Eridan (3m Ready Cash-Topaze d’Atout) scored comfortably with David Thomain aboard for trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Philippe DeWulf, timed in 1.16.1kr. The trainer/owner team also took second with 4.3/1 Ecu Pierji (3m Tucson-Tosca Pierji) reined by Mathieu Mottier. 13.5/1 Euro du Chene (3m Neoh Jiel-Oseille du Chene) raced well to capture third driven by Franck Nivard. The Prix Uranie was the next Gr. II event (purse €120,000, 2700 meters, 13 starters) and 2/5 odds favorite Erminig d’Oliverie (3f Scipion du Goutier-Theze) recorded a close victory gamely holding on for the 1.14.9kr score driven by Franck Nivard. Franck Leblanc is the conditioner for Ecurie de l’Oliverie). Ere Nouvelle (3f Love You-Kidea) was a rallying second at 19.6/1 with Anthony Barrier up for the successful team of Philippe Allaire and owner Kevin Tebirent. 22/1 Elisione Mag (3f Quaker Jet-Perle du Ravary) was in the picture third for David Thomain and breeder/owner Michel Agostini. The always interesting performer Arlington Dream (7g Ready Cash-Ialla Clairchamp) scored at 7/10, the favorite, timed in 1.11.5kr and exhibiting his speed and wide antics as he made the front at the halfway point. LeVexier and 83/1 Vivien (8g Kaisy Dream) took the third spot for Franck Ouvrie in this modest payoff Quinte event. The day’s final groupe contest was the Gr. III Prix de Beaugency (purse €105.000, 2850 meters, 11 starters) and that 1.13.1kr timed score went to 1.6/1 favorite Virgious du Maza (8g Prodigious-Pocket Edition) for trainer/driver Sebastian Ernault. August 26, 2017 - The gallant veteran Timoko (10m Imoko-Kiss Me Coulonces) was parked every step from post seven (by Dante Boko) but inched to the front in mid-stretch for Bjorn Goop to win the Gr. Off the 6.4/1 in SWE (16/1 on the PMU) the winner bested 9/1 Nadal Broline (7g Yankee Glide-Aimee’s Promise-American Winner) and Ulf Ohlsson. 1.5/1 favorite (3/10 on PMU) Propulsion (5m Muscle Hill-Danae-Andover Hall) trailed throughout until a too late brush in the lane, a mysterious drive by Orjan Kihlstrom. August 20, 2017 - The 7/10 favorite Bugsy Malone (6g Ready Cash-Night Captain) was clearly the best in the Prix Montier (turf, purse €45,000, 3000 meters, 11 starters) at Montier en Der. He started from the back and raced that way for a lap before starting a following three wide move to the front with a lap remaining. Under little urging from Yoann Lebourgeois, Bugsy rolled to a huge lead stopping the clock in 1.15.6kr, quick for turf and the distance. Bugsy now has 18 career wins in 34 starts for €543,060 earned. Philippe Allaire owns and trains this winner. 2.6/1 Uniflosa Bella (9f Jag de Bellouet-Koctiflosa Gede) was second for Antoine Wiels and 24/1 Ugo Dacheux was third for Franck Ouvrie. August 19, 2017 - Ubu Kiraly (4m Vioxx SR-Helikon-Awesome Goal) won the first heat of the Istvan Sent DIJ (total purse 2,000,000Huf, 1960 meters distance handicap for three and four year olds) for Lajos Martin, harness racing trainer/driver for Amma i. timed in 1.18.5kr, as he won on disqualification of Villam Ville for that one being rough gaited in the late going. The placed winner overcame a 40 meter penalty. Urania RG (3m SJs Photo-Vitesse OR-Indro Park) was placed second for trainer/driver Tibor Hajnal. Villeneuve (3m Pilgrims Taj-Brisco Emma-Brisco Roberto) was placed third for trainer/driver Laszlo Kolozsi. The top point winners of the two heats earned their purse checks. Heat number two saw Ubu Kiraly end fourth, behind winner Vital RG (3m SJs Photo-Vitesse OR-Indro Park) timed in 1.19kr for Tibor Hajnal, the trainer/driver. Villeneuve and 40 meters handicapped Urania RG were second and third in this effort. Ubu Kiraly was the overall point winner and he earned the trophy and first purse money of one million Huf.
