JMB (Jean-Michel Bazire) had quite a day Friday that included three harness racing wins at Paris-Vincennes at another at Angers.   The featured score was with 7/10 favorite Valokaja Hindo (8m Great Challenger-Hindo Enghave) timed in 1.13.4kr in the Vincennes’ Prix Jacques de Saint Sauveur (purse 64,000€, 2850 meters, 11 European starters).   Bazire, the trainer, used the front end to win over 1.7/1 Orlando Jet (6m Orlando Vici-Chicolina) reined by Rudi Haller for Team Neuhof. 58/1 Gross Weight (8g Scarlet Knight) was third for Mathieu Mottier. Valokaja Hindo won for the ninth time in 15 starts in France and increased his life earnings to 380,004€. Bazire was back quickly to win the Q+ Prix de la Ville de Nogent-sur-Morne (purse 41,000€, 2850 meters, 14 starters) with 1.8/1 favorite Fidele Royale (4m Veux de Vicomte) clocked in 1.13.9kr. Ecurie des Charmes owns the four time winner that defeated 8.6/1 First du Ronceret handled by Anthony Barrier and 36/1 Figaro Planchette. Three groupe level events highlighted today’s Paris-Vincennes program, one being the Quinte+ race of the day.   The first was the monte Prix Guillaume de Bellaigue (Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 2700 meters, nine starters) and veteran monte performer Arlington Dream (9g Ready Cash-Ialla Clairchamp) was at his best with a start to finish victory timed in 1.12.2kr.   Yoann Lebourgeois was in the irons and rated the winner exceptionally well for trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Frederik Sauque. Arlington Dream won for 22nd time in his 75-race career to raise his life earnings to 1,107,600€. He was off as the 9/2 third wagering choice.   The 3/5 odds favorite Clegs des Champs (7g Legs du Clos) was second with David Thomain the jockey for trainer Thierry Raffegeau and owner J-Y Roze. Third was 18/1 Bohemian Rhapsody (8f Niky) handled by Camille Levesque for breeder/owner Pierre Levesque and trainer Thomas Levesque. The 3.1/1 second choice Carly was a miscue dq.   The Quinte+ race was the Gr. Today’s excellent late afternoon Paris-Vincennes program was highlighted by two Gr. III harness racing events for three year olds.   The males battled in the Prix de Faulquemont (Gr. III purse 70,000€, 2700 meters, 11 starters) with victory earned by 32/1 Aramis Bar (3m Napoleon Bar-Guendelina Bar), his third win along with two second place finished in six appearances.   Filippo Rocca was the pilot for trainer Fausto Barelli and owner Luigi Truccone in the 1.14.9kr timed event. 3.9/1 Galactic (3m Oh James-Amilka) was second with Matthieu Abrivard up for trainer Jacques Bruneau. 18/1 Get Happy (3m Bird Parker-Rasta Perrine) took the third check with J.Ph. Monclin up for trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Elisabeth Allaire. The 1.7/1 favorite Gamin des Perdrit was a dq.   The fillies competed in the Prix Fama (Gr. May 5, 2019 - The Groupe I featured Quinte+ Criterium des 4Ans (purse 200,000€, 2850 meters voltstart, 18 starters) went to the 2.7/1 second favorite Falcao de Laurma (4m Uniclove-Rangoon) with Franck Nivard up for harness racing trainer Thierry Duvaldestin and owner Armand Speisser. Falcao won for fifth time in his 23 race career and now has life earnings of 362,030€. Race time was 1.13.2kr off even fractions. 163/1 Frisbee d’Am (4m The Best Madrik-Miska des Rondes) was second with Alexandre Abrivard up and third was 25/1 Fric du Chene (4m Nobody du Chene) with Francois Lagadeuc aboard. 8.7/1 Filou d’Auvergne and 24/1 Foxtrot Sea completed the top five. The 2.1/1 favorite Freyja du Pont was among the miscue dq casualties. The Q+ exact order 2€ ticket paid 510,123€ to the three winning ticket holders. Tuesday Paris-Vincennes action was all about three-year old trotteurs led first by the Prix Paul Karle (Gr. II, purse 100,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 11 starters, three-year old colts).   In this harness racing event the 1.6/1 favorite Gotland (3m Ready Cash-Sanawa) scored timed in 1.12.4kr, his seventh career win in eight starts, now for 251,500€ earned.   Eric Raffin was the pilot for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire of the fine colt bred by Jean Pierre Guay. 9/1 General du Parc (3m Lejacque d’Houlbec) was a game second for Alexandre Abrivard and trainer Frederic Prat, with third going to 133/1 Gilmour (3m Tag Wood) reined by Mathieu Mottier. The 3.9/1 odds Gamble River was fourth.   The fillies then took the stage in the Gr. II Prix Masina (purse 100,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 10 starters, three year old fillies) and that race produced a relatively easy score for 6.3/1 Girls Talk (3f Brillantissime-Be My Girl) with David Thomain up. She was clocked in 1.13.3kr for her fifth career victory in ten starts, now for 212,000€ earned. The 4/5 odds favorite Carly (7g Rolling d’Heripre-Thea de Jelma) easily took the featured Prix Cornelia (Gr. Saturday at Paris-Vincennes showcased several groupe events beginning with the Prix Jean Riaud (Gr. III, purse 90,000€. 13 starters, a Quinte+ race of the day), named after the trainer/driver of the great Jamin.   In this one, trainer J-M Bazire send out a talented team of three from his training stable and all were in the top five finishers. 9/1 Ble du Gers (8g Quinoa du Gers-Moorea) was the 1.12.5kr timed winner with Alexandre Abrivard the reinsman for trainer Bazire and owner J-M Rancoule.   He won for the 19 th time in 55 career starts now for life earnings of 78,360€. Bazire’s favorite, the 2.3/1 Cleangame (7gOuragon de Celland-Red Bell), took second with J-M Bazire up for owner Rancoule.   Third was 19/1Anzi des Liards (9g Look de Star) handled by Romain Derieux. 29/1 Tony Gio (7m Varenne) and 17/1 Bel Avis (8g Ganymede) completed the top five, the latter a Bazire trainee and reined by Nicolas Bazire.   19/1 Traders and 41/1 Delia du Pommereux earned the last two checks. Today at Lyon la Soie was the third harnes racing leg of the prestigious Gr. II Grand National du Trot Paris-Turf (purse 85,000€, 3250 meters distance handicap), also the Quinte+ race of the day.   Victory went to the 1.4/1 favorite Colt des Essarts (7m Olitro-Navy Vaumicel) piloted by Francois Lagadeuc for breeder/owner Ecurie d’Essarts to his 16 th career win in 37 starts now for 316,290€ earned. Race time was 1.13.8kr.   Second was the 3.6/1 odds and 25 meter handicapped Ceylan Dairpet (7g Ouragon de Celland-Rosy MIP) with Tony LeBeller aboard. The 30/1 outsider Cristal River (7m Quaker Jet-Olga de la Greane) took the Friday evening Quinte+ Prix Gratia (purse 48,000€, 2700 meters) at Paris-Vincennes.   Francois Legadeuc teamed the Sebastien Guarato harness racing trainee that is owned by breeder Gerard Manzi. He scored for only the fourth time in 58 career starts but now has 218,630€ earned.   Race timed was 1.14.1kr. 13/1 Coumba Kuky (7f Matador de Vrie) took second for trainer/driver Gabriel Angel Pou Pou and 9/1 Dimmosia (6f Phlegyas) was third for trainer Loris Garcia and pilot Matthieu Abrivard. 12/1 Baron du Gouthier and 3/2 favorite Calou Renardierre completed he exact order top five finishers and set off a 54,137.60€ payoff for the eight winning 2€ Q+ tickets.   6th April   The Q+ pool was 4,332,038€ and the total pools of all bets on this race exceeded 8,656,000€. The winner scored for the first time in two starts in France, for trainer Robert Bergh and owner Roland Wiksten. His career earnings are now 191,668€. The 1.3/1 favorite Clegs des Champs (7g Legs du Clos-Prosperine) scored for jockey David Thomain, trainer Thierry Raffegeau and owner J-Y Roze. It was the winner’s 12th life win in 24 outings now for 469,080€ earned. 2.2/1 Mindyourvalue WF (6m Hovding Lavec-Mind Your Manners) held close for second handled by Eric Raffin for trainer Robert Bergh. 30/1 Shadow Gar (8f Pine Chip-Lady Killer Gar) closed for a distant third with Mathieu Mottier up for trainer Jerry Riordan and owner Pietro Gubellini. 11/1 Julio de Luxe (10g Juliano Star) took the fourth check for jockey Alexandre Abrivard. USA Hambletonian Society executives were on hand to present the Meadowlands Trophy (John Campbell, Moira Fanning) along with Propulsion’s breeder Elizabeth Caldwell of Cane Run Farm. These races are always exciting and this one went to 3/2 favorite Argan du Loulay (9g Jam Pridem) with Mlle. Emeline Desmigneux aboard for trainer Ph. Richard, also the owner. Race time was 1.14.8kr. Second was 18/1 Baron du Bourg (8g Lilium Madrik) with Mlle. Oceane Briand in the irons, with third to 11/1 Art d’Erable (9g Coktail Jet) with Victor Saussaye the jockey. Grandissima Four year old males contested the Prix d’Issoire (purse 35,000€, 2700 meters, 15 European starters) this afternoon with victory earned by the 2.7/1 Zakk Wise (4m Equinox Bi-Soranity Wise) with Jean Michel Bazire driving for trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro. Race time was 1.16.2kr. 28/1 Zar Ross (4m Andover Hall-Armbro Artisan) was second for trainer/driver Andrea Guzzinati, ahead of 2.2/1 favorite Zaire Wise As (4m Maharajah-Southwind Pamona) with trainer Gocciadoro the reinsman. Fourth was Fakir de Val (4m Vanishing Point) handled by breeder/owner/trainer Eric Lambertz. Zakk Wise Five year old females battled in the Prix de Chevilly (purse 35,000€, 2700 meters, 13 starters) with the 1.16kr timed victory going to 3.3/1 Ellora du Cedre (5f Ludo de Castelle) for David Thomain and trainer J.P. On January 26th at Kalmar 6/1 Speedy Foxy Vicane (10f Chouchou des Dames-Speedy Vicane) won the V75 Gold raced over 2140 meters autostart with 200,000SEK to the winner. The now 16 time winner in 61 starts for 2,146,000SEK earned, was driven by Kin Eriksson for trainer/owner David Kallgren. 34/1 Elliot Coger and 2.9/1 Jairo trailed the winner. Race time was 1.12.9kr. On the same card the V75 Silver (150,000SEK to the winner, 1640 meters autostart) saw 2.1/1 Global Trust (6g Yankee Glide-Refuse to Lose-Conway Hall) score in 1.11.2kr with Jorma Kontio up for trainer Timo Nurmos. He scored for the 11th time in 23 life starts, to defeat 9/2 Master Crowe (9m Conway Hall-Somack-Mack Lobell), the half-brother to Commander Crowe, and 40/1 Te Quiero Giff (9m Donato Hanover –Miss Eleonora-Enjoy Lavec. Two days earlier at Aby in a 2140 meter cobtest worth 40,000SEK to the winner, the Jerry Riordan trained, Team Snyder AB owned, Zanzibar Effe (4f Donato Hanover-Etna Sec-Viking Kronos) scored at 24.9/1 for Christoffer Eriksson timed in 1.15.2kr. January 27, 2019 - The storms eased somewhat later in the Prix d’Amerique harness racing program this afternoon. Three groupe level contests took place. The Prix 20 Minutes (“Helen Johannson”), Gr. III, 80,000€ purse, 2100 meters autostart, 18 starters went to 13/1 Chica de Joudes (7g Jag de Bellouet-Eueschula Love) reined by owner/trainer Alain Laurent. The quick 1.10.9lr timed victory increased the winner’s life earnings to 365,200€. The race fractions were swift from the start (1.0.2kr at the 1500 to go mark; 1.09.2kr at the 1000 and 1.10.4kr with 500 meters remaining).  1.7/1 Terry d’Ete (7f Ganymede-Love Me Tender) took second for Franck Nivard and Scuderia Eurocolor Srl and 14/1 Ursa Caf (6f Explot Caf-Crisunar) rallied for third with Bjorn Goop the  pilot. Chica des Joudes The Prix Lenotre (“Jean Rene Gougeon”), a Gr. III event for a purse of 80,000€, was raced over 2100 meters autostart by 18 starters. Jean-Michel Bazire was back in the winner’s circle teaming his trainee Dorgos de Guez (6g Romcok de Guez-Fromentro), a horse bred and owned by Ecurie Vautors. This one was off as the 5/20 favorite and was timed in a quick 1.11.2 with fast steady fractions and a quick final 500. 14/1 Delloro Vedaquais (6g Ready Cash-Spandelle) took second with Jean Philippe Monclin up for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. The 5/1 campaigner Super Fez (8m Love You-Lucia FI) was third. This one also a Bazire trainee and reined today by Gabriele Gelormini. The winner drifted wide and his large lead diminished to two lengths at the line. Dorgos du Guez The Gr. III Prix Leopold Verroken (purse 60,000€, 2100 meters autostart,  13 European three year olds) went to 8/10 favorite Golden Bridge (3m Ready Cash-Usenza) with Yoann Lebourgeois up for breeder/owner Michel Tessier and trainer Philippe Allaire. Race time was 1.14.5kr off rated fractions. The 48/1 outsider In Your Dreams (3f Donato Hanover-Iron lady) was a fast closing second for driver Matthieu Abrivard, trainer Yves Boireau and owner Jean Pierre Dubois.
