November 12, 2017 - 7.7/1 BBS Sugarlight (8g Super Light-Sugarsweet Sid) won Sunday’s Gr. II Prix de Giganten, sponsored by HODIJ Holdings, for driver Vidar Hop, at Victoria Park, Wolvega. The winner scored narrowly over 9/10 favorite Anna Mix (7f Ludo de Castelle-Ires) reined by Franck Nivard for owner/trainer Franck Leblanc. 20.6/1 Totem d’Azur (10g Joao Panca-Heidi d’Indienne) was third. Each of these achieved their result by placing as dominant wire to wire winner 3.6/1 Ringostarr Treb (7g Classic Photo-Farsalo Egral), driven by Wim Paal, was disqualified for going inside pylons on the final bend. The 1.13.7kr timed winner was Italy’s 4.9/1 odds Vitruvio (3m Adrian Chip-Tigre OM-Zebu) piloted by trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro. 43/1 outsider Valentina Wind (3f Muscle Hill-Norah Wind-Supergill), also bred in Italy, was length back second for Robin Bakker. Grift. Grift Jr. (4m Zola Boko-Memory Boko) was second for Robin Bakker driving for trainer Paul Hagoort. Third was Bringo Boko (4g From Above-Staro Almighty) for Jaap Van Rign. Race time was 1.15kr. The Breeders Course (purse €11,000, 2100 meters autostart, eight starters) went to 1.14.3kr timed and 5/2 favored Hambo Transs R (3m Love You-Bewitched) reined by Hugo Langeweg Jr, for Paul Hagoort training for Stal Fleurs BV.. October 23, 2016 - Sunday’s Breeders Course Two Year-Old Finale was held at Wolvega with victory to FR-bred Ethien du Vivier (2m Sancho Turgot-Nomiva du Vivier-Hand du Vivier) with Wim Pal up for Swedish harness racing trainer Tomas Malmqvist. The field covered 1609 meters autostart with the winning time 1.14.6kr. Ethien du Vivier earned €35,000 first money for the two length victory after securing the front at the half-way point.
