This winner was off at 6.3/1 odds while favored Booster Winner finished a fading eighth at 1.3/1. Yohan Lebourgeois rode Bird Parker as the pair drew clear from the field starting at head-stretch. Philippe Allaire trains the winner for owner Elisabeth Allaire. Brutus de Bailly (3m Niky-Ninon de Bailly) was second for Mathieu Mottier at 13/1 with Best of Jets (3m Magnificent Rodney-Plume Jets) and Bilibili (3m Niky-Quetty du Digeon) next across the line. The Philippe Allaire trained, Yohan Lebourgeois teamed 13.4/1 outsider Velvet Rainbow (5m Love You-Ornella Rainbow) secured the victory in 1.15.4kr, his eighth in 29 starts. Last week showcased solid, competitive racing in France, Italy, Sweden and Hungary. Mid-week graded action at Paris-Vincennes highlighted the lead in to a superb racing weekend.  Africaine took the Gr. II Prix Guy le Gondidec Wednesday for Jean-Etienne Dubois. The four-year-old daughter of Oiseau de Feur scored easily in 1.13.6kr over 2700 meters. On Thursday, Paris-Vincennes conducted two more Gr. II events that went to Valdice de Mars in a monte test (Prix Legoux-Longpre) over 2850 meters. This five-year-old daughter of Lynx de Bellouet scored in 1.13.9kr for Yohan Lebourgeois. The other Gr II event was the Prix Jules Thibault over 2700 meters that Athos des Elfes won for Joel Van Eeckhaute in 1.13.7kr. II events highlighted the excellent Monday program under sunny skies, a forerunner to the next Vincennes winter meet. The E120,000 purse Gr. II Prix Pierre Plazen for European three year-olds over 2175 meters, went to well-regarded Booster Winner (3m Love You-Quille Viretaute) with Eric Raffin teaming for trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Philippe Aloisio. He scored in 1.13.4kr in the eight horse field at 3.6/1 odds over Bird Parker (3m Ready Cash-Belisha) and Yohan Lebourgeois for Philippe Allaire and owner Mme. Elisabeth Allaire. Black d'Avril and Franck Ouvrie was third ahead of favorite Brutus du Bailly with J-M Bazire aboard. Time was 1.13.4kr for the winner. Viking de Val (5m Baccarat du Pont-La Forge de Val) took the E120,000 Gr. II Prix Jockey for five year-olds. 13 horses faced the starter going 2700 meters. The 52 to 1 rank outsider Quarlos (10m L’as de Viretaute-Cette Abgevire-Workaholic) rallied late from eighth place in mid-stretch to secure an easy surprise win in 1.14.9kr for Mathieu Mottier and trainer/owner Michel Dabouis. The veteran earned his 12th win for career bankroll of €618,800. Holland’s Amour d’Occagnes (7m Diamant Gede-Naomi November) finished second at 5.3/1 for Christophe Martens with third going to Shadow d’Odyssee and J-M Bazire at 5.2/1. The Gr. II Prix Louis Jariel was the featured event on today's noon-day card at Paris-Vincennes. The 120,000 euro purse drew a field of nine five-year-olds traveling 2175 meters. The hotly contested, hot-paced event went to Very Nice Marceaux, craftily reined by Pierre Vercruysse for trainer Gregory Laurent.
