Sonny was one of two finalists for the programme’s inaugural America's Most Talented Pet Competition.

Sonny competed nation-wide against thousands of other "pets" to make it to the final, losing the title by just one point, 9 to 8, to the Terrier, Skippy.

Sonny is a unique mini horse who Long has trained to perform numerous tricks, including playing miniature golf, opening a mailbox and taking out the mail, answering questions with the nod or shaking of his head, counting with his hoof to various requested number amounts, slapping five and shaking hands with his hoof.

A possible appearance for Diane and Sonny on the David Letterman Show may be forthcoming.

Diane Long, in earlier interviews, told the Today Show that she is in the harness racing business.

She is a member of the United States Trotting Association and the Florida Standardbred Breeders and owners Association.

Along with her husband, Tom, they breed, own, train and race Florida-breds at Pompano Park.

Diane has 138 wins as a professional driver.
