Fox Valley Gallant and Fox Valley Devious are a pair of pacers with plenty of past success at Maywood Park.

Fox Valley Gallant (8-5, Mike Oosting), fresh off a 1.51 victory at Balmoral Park, is the fastest horse in Maywood Park’s long history.

The Seldon Ledford trained colt sped to a 1.50.3 clocking here last October, one of eight victories in his 3-Year-Old season that saw him earn $179,271 for Lemont, IL owner James Jesk.

Fox Valley Gallant was also last year’s $200,000 Pete Langley Final champion on Super Night at Balmoral Park last September. The colt then went later on to post a lifetime best 1.49.1 mile at Lexington.

Fox Valley Devious (9-5, Tony Morgan), now six, was the 2002 Maywood Park Pacing Series champion for Ciara Stable (IL), Michael Polansky (NY) and Neil Silverman (FL).

The Tom Harmer trainee captured both the Associates and Egyptian stake legs as a 3-Year-Old against older horses, after previously notching the $100,000 Maywood Pace Championship.

Fox Valley Devious campaigned this winter at Pompano Park, winning an Open (1.53) and a leg of the Isle of Capri Series (1.52.3) at the Florida track each with Tony Morgan in the bike.

Fox Valley Devious will leave from post four Friday evening, while Fox Valley Gallant has the three-slot.

Both horses are sons of Sportsmaster and so are Les Nomades (8-1, Brent Holland) and Papa Deck (6-1, Dave Magee), who leave from posts one and two, respectively.

Completing the Broadway Jazz field are Mack Machree (10-1, Ross Leonard) and Dashing Diplomat (9-2, Andy Miller), with posts five and six in that order.

Mack Machree comes off a 1.53 front-stepping victory here a week ago.

Dashing Diplomat, our Spring Stake champion two years ago, posted a career best 1.49.1 clocking at Balmoral last season.
