During the inquiry evidence was tendered by Mr David Batty - Deputy Director, RASL, Dr Richard Cust - HRV Veterinary Consultant, Mr Dayle Brown - HRV Manager Integrity / Administrative Services, Mr Alex Douglas - registered trainer of Infinite Grace, his wife Mrs Lynne Douglas, and Mr Adrian Douglas - registered stablehand and owner of Infinite Grace.

The inquiry heard evidence that the procedures adopted in relation to the collection of a post-race urine sample from Infinite Grace, indicated a failure by the Geelong Harness Racing Club swab attendant to adhere to the appropriate procedures.

Mr Douglas put forward a submission that the integrity of the sample collection procedure was questionable and may have indicated the possibility of contamination as he was at a loss to explain these findings.

After consideration of all relevant matters the panel found that the possibility of contamination was highly unlikely, however, they could not be satisfied that the integrity of the sample had not been compromised.

Mr Douglas was given the benefit of the doubt with regard to the findings reported by RASL and no action was taken.

No order was made with respect to the result of the race and all placings stand.
